What does ASU have to do to get ranked? 19-9, 7-2 in PAC12 play, tied for 1st. Won 13 of their last 15, and have yet to lose a weekend series in PAC12 play.
Aaron Fitt

We just want to see some higher quality wins. They've beaten Utah, Arizona and Cal in conference -- those three teams are a combined 9-27 in the league, and occupying the bottom three spots in the standings. But I think of ASU takes another series this weekend against Wazzu, the Devils probably wind up in the Top 25 next week.

Does Tech have one of the best home field advantages or what? 19-3 this year and 124-28 over the past 5 seasons (excluding 2020). I don't know of a team that plays better at home.
Aaron Fitt
1:41
Agreed. I said on one of our weekend preview shows a few weeks back that I'm basically just always going to pick Texas Tech in a series taking place in Lubbock, and that maxim has not let me down.

Thoughts on the mercy rule?   I love that the SEC adopted it.   Watched an Atlantic 10 game yesterday that could have really used it.
Kendall Rogers

Guest -- I'm fine with it. Like many rules, there's an argument against it. For instance, if you're up 15-2 in a game on a Friday night, you can really exhaust a team's bullpen or something. With the run rule, that is not possible. But honestly, the chances of coming back from down 10 runs in the seventh inning are pretty slim. I'm fine with it.

Miami's pitching showed up this past weekend (albeit against a lowly FSU.) What are the chances Miami hosts again this postseason?
Aaron Fitt
1:42
Yeah feels like it's coming together for the Canes. And they're in great position to host at the midseason point at No. 15 in the RPI and 8-4 in the ACC.

What have they put in the water up in Boston- NU and BC are a combined 42-10. Great season for Northeast baseball.. Hopefully they stay hot as the weather warms up here
Kendall Rogers

It's great to see isn't it? Mike Glavine always seems to have his program in solid shape outside of a couple of aberrations. But BC is the real surprise this year. I think we all expected the Huskies to take a step forward, but we certainly did not expect BC to be a top 25 team, and obviously not a Top 10 team. Really impressive.

Who is your favorite to win the Big 12 this year?
Aaron Fitt
1:43
I'm sticking with Oklahoma State, just think that's the most complete team overall, and they're in a pretty good position at 6-3 with series at Texas Tech and vs. Texas behind them.

How do you not drop Louisville all the way out of the Top 25 after two series losses to not so great teams? What are your thoughts on Louisville’s chances to be a regional host?
Aaron Fitt
1:46
First off, NC State is a good club that struggled a bit early in ACC play but is coming on right now -- I said in last week's chat that the Wolfpack's run was coming, and now it is underway, I believe. And Notre Dame is a decent enough older club, and that series was on the road in brutally cold conditions. No way we run a top 10 team out of the rankings after losing those two road series in back to back weekends, just no way. Cards had been great prior to those two weeks, and they have a couple of nice weekends on their resumé with the Shriners trip and the Ga Tech series. Cards aren't in the greatest RPI position right now at No. 31, but there's plenty of time for that to climb as we continue into the meat of conference play. Cards should certainly be in the hosting hunt.

What is your opinion on the state of the University of Georgia baseball program right now? Sitting at 1-8 in SEC play right now, it has been an extremely frustrating start - especially considering at this point last year, UGA was in discussion for a Top 8 seed for hosting a regional (then struggled to finish the year). Also, what is your opinion on Scott Stricklin's coaching status? He has been the head coach since 2013 and has yet to advance out of a regional (with hosting twice). Extremely frustrating considering the talent here in the state of Georgia. Patience is wearing thin for UGA baseball fans.
Kendall Rogers
1:47
Avant -- It's certainly been a disappointing start. Georgia showed some promise the first couple of weeks, but just can't close the deal over the past few weeks. Now, they're 1-8 in the SEC and climbing out of that hole is insanely difficult. I don't think it's impossible, but you're going to have to play some outstanding baseball. As for Stricklin, I think he's a good coach and I consider him a friend, but I also realize this is very much a results-oriented business. And let's be honest -- the results are not there for UGA right now. But again, the season is a LONG way from over.

How worried should I be about Texas State? The way Wells and Wood are pitching is very concerning.
Kendall Rogers
1:48
They certainly need to be better. One of the reasons, outside of a potent offense, that I felt pretty good about Texas State coming into the season was that two-headed monster of Wells and Wood. If they aren't pitching well, that lowers my stock buy in this team. But we will see if that continues to be an issue. I tend to feel like they're figure things out.

When ranking teams do you start with last week’s list and move teams up or down based on what they did over the last week or do you start from scratch and reconsider the whole season?
Aaron Fitt
1:49
The former -- we start with last week's list and adjust accordingly. If we started from scratch every week then the result would be pure chaos. A lot of fans seem to think we should start from scratch every week, but that would be pretty worthless if you ask me.

Another tough weekend for Mississippi State. While they did get the win Friday and looked much better on Thursday, they still have no consistency on the mound. Would you ride with Lemonis another year if he were able to hire a new top notch pitching coach or should MSU just clean house? Their 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes are loaded though.
Kendall Rogers
1:50
Dawgs - No idea what changes that might make just yet, but let's say the Bulldogs continue to struggle the rest of the season. I have little doubt a change of some sort will be made -- the question is -- how big? I think Lemo is a good coach, and he also has won the school's only men's national title. I think that allows him a mulligan when it comes to replacing coaches, etc... but we will see.

USM has been doing just enough to win games but the offense continues to be average outside of one inning Sunday. At this point in the season is this what they are or should fans hold out hope that this team can still flip a switch and make a run?
Aaron Fitt
1:52
I've been a little surprised that offense hasn't been better -- I really like the personnel on paper and expected offense to be the strength of that club. And this is one of those teams that I still believe can flip a switch and get hot offensively -- right now it feels like they are just performing below their potential, as opposed to simply having less potential than we anticipated. It's not like we were banking on unproven young guys to break out; they have a lot of established veterans that have done it in the past and can do it again.

When is it finally going to be time to admit that Louisiana Tech made a mistake extending Lane Burroughs after two lucky seasons? Another series loss this weekend. Can they turn it around?
Aaron Fitt
1:55
Surely you're joking. They have two of the best seasons in program history, then get off to a mediocre first half and we're ready to pull the plug on the Burroughs era? Nah, you're pulling me leg -- well done! Almost got me!
Will

Will the Sun Belt’s competitiveness and everyone beating each other bring their number of bids down from where it maybe could have been?
Aaron Fitt
1:58
Hm, I don't think so, just because there are enough teams with good RPIs in that league that most of the contenders should benefit from playing each other. It's wild that they've got nine teams inside the top 100 of the RPI right now, with a couple elite RPI teams in Coastal and ODU. I think the Sun Belt is well positioned to get 3-5 teams into regionals.

Are you concerned about Louisville’s pitching rotation? Carson Liggett has been phenomenal, but Hawks and Farone have struggled recently. How do you think Roger Williams is doing?
Kendall Rogers
1:59
Guest -- I'm a little concerned, but not ready to push the panic button as of yet. I will say this -- I am probably a little jaded by Ryan Hawks because I saw him outstanding against Texas A&M in Houston. With that said, it was primarily two pitches and A&M was awful offensively at that point, so that might skew things a little. We'll see what happens moving forward, but yeah a little alarming for sure.

Based off their recent success, what is your current seeding projection for DBU and how far do you think this team can go in the postseason?
Aaron Fitt
1:59
I think I'm betting on DBU to win C-USA and wind up as a 2-seed. And I do think they have the arms to make a run at Omaha, just a matter of playing their best at the right time.
Weston

Can you name a couple of teams who are flying a bit under the radar, but have the talent and pedigree to get to Omaha? I’m thinking teams outside the top 10-15.
Kendall Rogers
2:01
Teams you usually wouldn't expect that my attention for that type of role are Connecticut and Texas State. Assuming the Bobcats can get Zeke Wood and Levi Wells right, that's a very dangerous and tested team. I also think UCONN is a very scary club as well. A lot of key offensive pieces are back from that super regional club last season.
Deacs
2:02
Feels like we've almost become "ho-hum" about Wake lately with how high their expectations are, and they're so good that a sweep at Clemson is barely a blip on the radar. Is there any team as well-rounded as the Deacs this year?
Aaron Fitt
2:02
Yeah, does feel like it. Although the fact that Clemson is aggressively mediocre also plays into the ho-hum reaction -- but still, sweeping a road series at Clemson would be a very notable thing for Wake Forest to accomplish historically. As for your question -- yeah, this might very well be the  most well rounded team in college baseball. There is at least some question mark area about just about everyone else, even LSU given their Sunday starter issues. Wake doesn't really seem to have a weakness in any facet.
Aaron Fitt
2:02
OK folks, that's all I've got time for today. Thanks as always for coming by, see you next week!
James

What do you think of TCU playing some home series against ranked teams starting with OSU this week.
Kendall Rogers
2:05
James -- TCU has certainly struggled on the road, but it is typically very solid at home. For that reason I think Oklahoma State is on upset alert in Fort Worth this weekend. With that said, the Frogs have to be better on the mound. I get that the weather in Lubbock was windy as heck all weekend, but allowing 37 runs in three games is not good to say the least. A series loss to OSU would very much put TCU behind the eight ball in the Big 12 (and hosting) race in that league.
