We know the committee likes some geographic diversity.  Is there a path to Oregon State and Arizona both hosting?
Kendall Rogers
3:05
Matt -- I think there's definitely a pathway, but would require one to win the series this weekend and the other to go on a hellacious run in the conference tournament, IMO. The caveat here would be if the committee thinks two Pac-12 schools should host over UCSB as the other Western rep.

If you were Texas A&M, would you rather have UT or TCU coming to your regional?
Kendall Rogers
3:06
Texas. I don't see Texas stacking up with A&M at all from a pitching standpoint, where as I could see TCU getting hot on the mound for a weekend.

Hey guys, is Northeastern still in okay shape for an at large bid if they come up short in the CAA Tournament? I think their profile is still good.
Kendall Rogers
3:07
Northeastern is very clearly behind UNCW and Charleston in the pecking order. Huskies will need a big run in the conference tournament to make the field at this point.

How killer was Cal's loss to San José State yesterday to their tournament chances given it bumped their RPI down to 67 and their only games left are at home against low-RPI teams? What do you think they need to do the rest of the way, including in Scottsdale, to make a regional? If Lomavita and Green Jr. get hot it feels like a team that can make a run in a regional...
Kendall Rogers

Jake -- definitely did not help as their RPI dropped around 10 spots. Cal will need to have a great week and then do really well in the conference tourney to have a shot. What stinks is they could make some noise in the postseason if they could just find a way in.

With Georgia’s recent sweeps of Vandy and South Carolina to go with an RPI of 3, does this put UGA as a Top 8 Seed for Hosting? If so, what is the minimum that they have to do to hold onto it?
Kendall Rogers
3:09
I expect us to have UGA in as a top eight seed in this week's projections. A series win over Florida this weekend should lock that one up, IMO, barring just a terrible set of games in Hoover. Georgia is playing as well as anyone in the country right now.

What team out west do you like the most in regards to making a run towards Omaha?
Kendall Rogers
3:10
Give me the Beavers. I just love their offensive star power, and there's enough pitching to get through the first two rounds. I actually think UCI/UCSB are both really good teams, too. UCSB has some legitimate frontend pitching talent on this roster.

Does Bama have any show of hosting?  Sweep at auburn would put them at 15-15 in the conference and potentially a top 10 RPI.
Kendall Rogers

No shot. 15-15 isn't gonna do it. The Crimson Tide would need to go on a big run in Hoover AND get some help.

What's the lowest RPI number/team that you think gets in this year? What about the highest that doesn't?
Kendall Rogers
3:13
Florida (29) doesn't get in -- I don't think the Gators will either get to 13 wins OR finish above .500 overall.

Lowest RPI to get in: Utah (71). The committee (with Mark Harlan, the Utah AD on the committee) could surprise, but I'd be shocked if the third place team in the Pac was left out, even with a horrible RPI.

Agree or Disagree: If Ole Miss could have swapped the Kentucky series with Mizzou instead, the conversation is about whether Ole Miss could host rather than make the tourney.
Kendall Rogers
3:14
I would disagree. Ole Miss has been a pretty flawed team for much of the year but I did like what I saw over the weekend. Spencer was electric, Nichols pitched well and Mendes showed pretty nasty stuff.
