I mean, they are 35-15, so they've been a pretty good club all year long, but clearly they are on a serious roll right now, with the nation's longest winning streak. Getting Matthew Adams back on track this week felt like an important development, and I really like the way Niko Mazza pitching right now in that long relief role. As usual, Christian Ostrander has put all the puzzle pieces together on the mound, and I like how those pieces fit. And the offense has certainly clicked after an uneven first half. Very dangerous team heading into the postseason, clearly.

Is Alabama an attractive job.
Kendall Rogers
2:51
I think Alabama is a good job -- it is not a great job. The facilities are nice, the national brand is on point and I do think fans would show up if the program consistently won. However, there are some definite roster/scholarship disadvantages and I just don't think the administration, for now, cares near as much as some of their SEC West counterparts. Maybe once and for all Greg Byrne is ready to step up when it comes to baseball?

Between the UNC series and ACC Tournament, does three wins solidify a top-8 seed for Clemson, or would they need more?
Aaron Fitt
2:51
I think that would be enough for a top-8, yeah. That would give them, what, seven straight series to end the regular season? Committee loves teams with momentum. And all the metrics are there.

What east coast team(s) would you be really worried about having in your region as a 2-3 seed? North Carolina and UCONN come to mind.
Aaron Fitt
2:53
Those are good ones. Campbell for sure. Northeastern feels like a legit super regional contender too.

Does Tennessee host if they take 2 out of 3 at South Carolina, or do they need a sweep or wins in Hoover?
Kendall Rogers
2:53
If Tennessee takes the series from South Carolina and doesn't totally squander Hoover, I think it will host. The road record is still an issue for me, but at that point, the Vols would have enough high-end series wins to negate that metric, IMO. But again it also depends on what other teams do.

How many regionals will be out west? ESPN usually likes to have two regionals out there for time slots so does that make Stanford and Oregon State the likely two?
Aaron Fitt
2:54
That feels like the answer to me.

What do the USC Trojans need to do to lock up a postseason berth?
Kendall Rogers
2:55
I would have USC in as of today based on conference record alone ... but man the RPI at 57 to go with a 4-12 record vs. RPI Top 50 doesn't sit well with me. I'd have them in right now, tho.

I saw a stat that says Arkansas has the lowest ERA in just confrence play. If that’s even remotely in the ballpark given the injuries, plus starting more different players on the position side has to put DVH in the conversation for National Head Coach of the Year right? Wouldn’t this be somthing for this to be the team to finally get what the Hogs missed in 2018?
Aaron Fitt
2:56
That is correct, Arkansas has a 4.65 ERA in conference play, which is best in the league. It really is incredible; give pitching coach Matt Hobbs credit too, he should be in the running for assistant coach of the year this year.

Missouri sweeping Georgia is giving me hope for a Tigers at-large.  I assume they'd need to win their last series and probably get a couple wins at Hoover to have an outside chance.  Is Mizzou still alive?
Kendall Rogers
2:56
RPI is in a decent spot, but you're not getting in with 10 league wins. Missouri would need to win the Auburn series and at minimum win one game in Hoover. I would want to win 2 or 3 to be safe.

What do the USC Trojans need to do to lock up a regional berth?
Aaron Fitt
2:58
Sweeping ASU was huge; teams that get to 16 wins in the Pac almost always get in, even on the few occasions when they finish with RPIs just outside the top 60. USC has climbed to No. 57 in the RPI, so it's right there on that bubble for a Pac-12 team. They finish at Arizona, and I think one win in that series should get them in, provided they don't also fall on their faces in the conference tourney.

Is Texas A&M too far gone? RPI is no good and this weekend the fight was just non-existent... at large maybe?
Kendall Rogers
2:58
They will need to win the Mississippi State series for sure. Do that and I think they're in. Don't do that and I think they're gonna need a couple of wins in Hoover.

Does Oregon State basically have to win the PAC-12 tournament to host?
Kendall Rogers
2:59
Beaver -- they'll either need to go on some sort of run in the conference tournament to get to 20-24 in the RPI, or they'll need the committee to have a little leeway when it comes to the RPI this year.

Does FGCU get into the tournament even if they don't win their conference tournament?
Aaron Fitt
2:59
I think that's unlikely -- an ASUN team with a No. 54 RPI, and not currently winning its league (FGCU is a game behind Lipscomb). You really need to win the regular-season title to have an at-large shot in a conference in that tier, and realistically you also need to be inside the top 45 in the RPI, and as we've seen a number of times recently (like Wofford last year), sometimes even that combination isn't enough.

Does DVH get the national coach of the year for putting together this Arkansas team as many injuries as they have faced?
Kendall Rogers
3:01
He would certainly be the near the top for me. It's almost comical that Arkansas has as many injuries/setbacks as they have, and it is STILL No. 2 in the country. Mind blowing. He's a wizard.

Does Oklahoma State have any chance whatsoever for a top 16 seed? Or is Holliday's team too far gone
Kendall Rogers
3:01
Lars -- if Oklahoma State stays at No. 2 in the league and has an RPI in the 15-20 range, it's my belief it will be a Top 16 seed and host.
Brendan

Is the Sun Belt a good enough league for a team like Troy to feel safe where they stand right now?
Kendall Rogers
3:03
It's a really good league and I think the top two teams should feel safe. But there are enough warts on Troy's resume (and on the resumes of other contenders) to be a little hesitant to say yes.

Houston sweeps this weekend to win the American. They will be 35-20 record but are 30-9 in their last 39 any chance to make regional. They have won 9 straight series and 7 straight conference series.
Aaron Fitt
3:04
Yeah you make a compelling case there -- but the stark reality is the Cougars just have zero shot because of the RPI (No. 92). That's just way too far back.
