How much would a potential Big 12 tournament matchup between Texas Tech and TCU affect each team’s push for a top 8 seed? Or would there be more of an emphasis on regular season performance?
Kendall Rogers

Reece -- I think Texas Tech is ahead of TCU in the pecking order, but the margin is very close between the two teams. I think it really boils down to which team goes on a run in OKC -- and also what some other teams do, such as Stanford, Oregon and ECU.

Basically the championship series in the WCC this weekend with series winner winning the conference! Do think both Gonzaga and USD make the tourney regardless? As long as USD doesn't get totally blown out this weekend I think both are deserving!

I don't think USD gets in if it loses that series. The Toreros just don't have any quality wins on their resumé. I mean, USD has exactly one (1) win all season long against a team with a winning overall record -- that came way back in Week One in the series finale against San Diego State (a series that USD lost). Heck, USD hasn't even played a game against a team with a winning record since then, so I guess it's not really their fault... but it also hurts their at-large chances. Where's the beef?

Is Gonzaga at risk of falling out of being a host if they lose the series to USD?
Kendall Rogers
1:06
Tim -- if Gonzaga lost that series to USD, its RPI would probably drop into the high 20s or early 30s ... the RPI Needs Report has the Zags moving into the 33-40 range if it dropped that series. I don't think they host if their RPI is in that range.

Would you say the winner of the CUSA tournament will automatically get a host if it is Charlotte, USM or La Tech?
Kendall Rogers
1:06
That would actually seem like a very safe bet at this point, unless South Carolina goes on a strong, strong run in the SEC tournament. And even then, I could see SC replacing someone like Florida in that situation instead of a C-USA team.

Was FSU's steep drop mainly due to Aaron being unimpressed after seeing them in person? Just seems harsh to drop that far after losing two on the road to the hottest team in the country, they were in it until the end in both losses. Love what you guys do and all your hard work! Thanks!

Actually it had nothing to do with my impressions; in fact I like Florida State's pitching a lot -- better than any other ACC staff in my mind. It was just a weird week in the rankings -- we had a clump of teams to move up there in the middle, and a couple teams that needed to hold their ground, so FSU probably fell farther than it really deserved to.

Chance for Nebraska being a 1 seed in a remote Regional? Maybe in the Zags regional or say Pits?
Aaron Fitt

Kendall kinda dismissed the chances for this earlier, but I'm not so sure. Nebraska's record in the Big Ten is really loud for me; it's a .725 winning percentage and a 3.5 game lead in the standings. What else can they really do? I think if they win that last series against Michigan, the Huskers have a real chance to be a 1 seed on the road (in Spokane or maybe Charlotte? But not Pitt. I don't think Pitt gets a home regional regardless.)

I actually agree with Aaron on the idea of sending NU somewhere as a one seed -- just don't think the committee would do it. If Nebraska wins that Michigan series, I hope I'm wrong.

OK guys, that's a wrap for me. Thank you all for another fun chat, and another fantastic season of chats. This is always a blast. Enjoy conference tournament madness!

Jackson State took a stunning loss from Southern this weekend after a tremendous season. Are they definitely out of postseason play?
Kendall Rogers
1:15
Jay -- Unfortunately, with an RPI well into the 100s and the league not exactly having national cachet, Jackson State's season is over. I'm sick for Omar Johnson and his club because they were incredibly consistent throughout the season -- only to lose like that. Brutal, but doesn't diminish what they did this season.

Do you see Coach Ostrander from USM ending up with an HC gig somewhere soon? Amazing what he’s done with the golden eagle pitching staff.
Kendall Rogers

Tom -- If I was a mid-major looking for a very solid head coach, Ostrander would be on my list. He's done an excellent job at USM and was very good at LT as well. I actually really liked USM's rotation and bullpen arms when I saw them against Rice a few weeks ago. Christian is a stud.

How will the UCLA series this weekend impact the Sun Devils' chances of making it in?
Kendall Rogers

Guest -- Zero. Arizona State is a lock to make the postseason, and frankly, Tracy and his staff have done an incredible job this season given all of their injuries. Very impressive.
