Guest -- I would say this. I think Chris Lemonis should get one more year to right the ship with a new pitching coach. If Hail State can go out and make a strong pitching coach hire, it would have a pretty good staff with that coach and Jake Gautreau leading the way. With that said, a regional at minimum would be a MUST next season. What has happened in Starkville this season is pretty unacceptable.

If Alabama goes to the College World Series do you think their interim coach will become their permanent head coach?

That's a funny question, but it's a good one! If Jason Jackson guided the Tide to the College World Series, you could certainly make way worse hires. JJ is very well respected in the industry. I think Alabama could go bigger as of today -- but accomplish that goal? JJ would probably be pretty deserving at that point.

If Washington gets their RPI in the 30s are they safely in the NCAA Tournament?

I would have Washington in as of today -- so yes, an RPI in the 30s would bolster UW's chances of making the NCAA tourney, IMO. That would mean the Huskies finished very strong.

Has ECU improved its chances to host after sweeping UC this weekend and now a 1/2 game back from being back in 1st place?

Sam -- East Carolina is definitely in the mix, but as of now, I think there are some other teams and resumes that I do like a little better. But ECU is right back in the mix and a strong finish + a strong showing in the conference tournament would make for a very strong case.

I feel like Florida could be a popular pick to be upset in the regionals due to their pitching inconsistency - Sproat has been solid, but Waldrep and Cags have been really up and down, and they have 1 solid bullpen arm. Do you think this team really has an Omaha ceiling with those arms?

Gator -- I still really like the Gators, but there's no doubt there are some question marks with the pitching. Waldrep had electric stuff early on against A&M, but fell apart, Caglianone looked strong for three innings, then just fell off the inning. And I feel like that bullpen with Abner/Fisher/Slater, etc, is talented. But I also feel like they have to have pinpoint command to be effective. I believe in the lineup. The pitching is in a better spot than say ... LSU ... but it's not flawless for sure.

Does it look like Southern miss has a shot of hosting again this year? Feel like it would take a strong finish on their part to be in the conversation.

They definitely have a shot with a Top 25 RPI and a solid conference standing to go with solid vs. RPI T50 and T100 metrics. Finish strong to the regular season and play well in the conference tournament and hosting is most certainly a solid possibility.
