The owners very successfully have used hot-button issues as a cudgel to weaken and separate the union.

For example, it's good for MLB to address issues of domestic violence, but Marvin Miller would have *never* let the MLBPA agree to a penalty of "whatever the %^@# the commissioner says arbitrarily."

Sale has spoken about dialing back his pursuit of Ks. Does that affect your view of him? Also, what do you think of the notion that the White Sox would be lucky if a tear down produced a cost-controlled core as good as Sale/Q/Eaton/Rodon/Abreu, and therefore, they should try to fix the holes instead?

Tanaka has negative trade value though, doesn't he? Because if he blows out his arm or fails this year, you are on the hook for 3 years, $67 mil. more. That's huge risk.
