The Heyward contract includes a $20 mil signing bonus that is deferred. However, if Heyward opts-out, that signing bonus is paid immediately. Barring major injury, it's hard to imagine a scenario where Heyward does NOT opt out, right? At 3/78, is that still likely to be a good deal for the Cubs?

What could trading Freeman get the Braves that could possibly be better than Freddie Freeman? Best reasonable case scenario is they get a player who ends up providing about 6 years of above average play for less than what they're paying Freeman, so basically the argument is for salary relief?
