I would argue that they got as much for one year of Alfredo Simon as they got for two years of Todd Frazier, which is just embarrassing.

Age old question: Which sport has more parity, Baseball or Football? Die hard fans of each sport always seem to answer with the one they're a fan of. I'm no different and firmly believe baseball is the absolute correct answer.
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:36
Baseball easily. It's the nature of the game.

Josh Reddick - extended or traded? A's don't have much OF depth right now, so either makes sense.
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:37
Traded, I expect.

Thoughts on the Ryan Howard, Manning and Harrison ped story?
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:37
Hope they kept their receipts.

Where do the Reds go from here ?? Miserable start to the rebuild...
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:37
Last place.

Was Joc Pederson's 2nd half last year a sign of things to come, or is 200 AB's too small of a sample size to make a judgment on?

People got too excited about the early season then too depresseda bout the late season

I think the White Sox should just go all in and get Gordon and Desmond. What say ye?
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:38
They should.

Does Heyward in CF have a higher WAR than Heyward in RF? Assume same hitting stats. Very curious if the + positional adjustment from RF to CF is enough to make up for the less elite defense
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:38
In projection yes. ZiPS believes Heyward will adjust better than the average corner outfielder would.

I don't expect Tommy Pham to produce at a 125 wRC+ again, but should he be getting more consideration for a larger role with the Cardinals ?
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:39
That's a little optimistic.
12:40
They'll sort through their random collection of interesting OFs this spring

12:40
Who would you bat lead-off for the Cubs , Zorbist ?
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:40
Why not?

12:40
Why does it seem managers are reluctant to bat lefties back to back? Should they be against an elite righty?

Are the Red Sox a World Series contender or do they still need better starting pitching behind Price?
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:40
I think any halfway decent AL team is a World Series contender.
Devin
12:40
What kind of ceiling do you see for Kike Hernandez?
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:41
Solidly above-average player, not a star

Do you see the price for pitching in terms of prospect to go down some from this ridiculous level at mid-season?
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:41
No.

Twins rotation speculation: is deploying Trevor May as a reliever a better idea than as a starter?
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:42
I probably would use him as a reliever unless I *really* need to use him in the rotation

12:42
How often do YOU see what the projections spit out and say, "No way!" Like once on a 25-man roster? More, less?
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:42
I don't really count. There are degrees.
Joe
12:42
what kind of trade value do you think Jay Bruce has ? Angels and Orioles seem like a fit.
AvatarDan Szymborski
12:42
Not much.
12:43
He's been really lousy for two years now.
12:44
If Bruce were a free agent, I'd have to think long and hard if I wanted to sign him to a 1/13 deal.
I'm certainly not giving up anything of value
Teams can overpay when they have desperate needs, but the problem is, I'm not sure 2016 Jay Bruce can actually satisfy any such need.
12:45
It makes sense for a drowning man to overpay for a life preserver. It doesn't make sense for a drowning man to overpay for a sandwich.
