The argument against shortening the season is largely historical statistical comparisons. Make me believe this. Every era is different, we have loads of + stats, and the game has been played longer with 154 games than 162. Valid or yelling at clouds?

Do you think a player's hit tool grade adequately tells you if a guy has good pitch recognition or good process at the plate?  It seems like a lot of busts are generated by guys who were physically gifted enough to get high hit grades but then get to the majors and are totally lost at the plate.

How real is Mitch Haniger's start? Obviously he won't keep hitting like this, but a wRC+ of 140-ish seems feasible considering his banked stats and his 129 wRC+ in 400 PA's last year.

It's hard to have a power streak like he's had and for it not to be real.  Homers for hitters are different than for pitchers.

I guess it's old news now, but that Jeter interview with Gumble that had everyone in an outrage...did Gumble really expect a part owner to say "we don't expect to win"? What was the point of all of that? Of course he expects his team to do their jobs - which is to play to the best of their ability.

Jeter, IMO, has always been a stunningly boring interviewer.
I think I can count the times he said something actually interesting in an interview the last 20 years on one hand.

Is it possible to pinpoint why some middling minor leaguers can break out later and become successful major leaguers, and why some talented prospects flame out? I imagine mental makeout and flexibility/resilience have something to do with it? Has there been any research on this front?

How can Kopech still not be in the Sox's rotation?  I mean there was talk about them trading for Manny Machado so money doesn't seem to be an issue to keep him down till Super 2 June.  Just seems crazy to waste the bullets in Charlotte when in fact he'll most definitely be on a innings cap this season.

Kopech is a fun projection because of any player in the long-term projections, he was the most bimodal that I can remember.
ZiPS think he'll either be a superstar or terrible, and just being decent a much distant third.
