It seems that within the Fangraphs community, Robinson Cano might be a little bit under-appreciated. He's frequently labeled as a fringe HOFer here (only 51 fWar), but he has 64.5 bWar. Most commentators outside of Fangraphs seem to align with bWar's estimation of his career, unreservedly calling him a "future Hall of Famer." Have there been other cases of other players with such a wide gap between bWar/fWar, and which side do you fall on when it comes to Cano? I've been perplexed by this divide for a while, and I'd love to see a deeper examination.

Surprisingly little, I think. His opt-out really creates a complicating factor.

Becuase if he's awesome, you may very well acquire him for two months. If he's terrible, you may very well be stuck with him for years
