will Pulp Fiction eventually be viewed as the greatest film of all time? It seems that over time the consensus moves closer and closer to the current time, and Pulp Fiction has a nearly unanimous acclaim among critics. Birth of a Nation - Citizen Cane - Vertigo - The Godfather - (skip the 80s) - Pulp Fiction. Makes sense to me.

I'll go with a variation on the saying "A happy ending, of course, depends on where you stop the story."
I think you can judge incomplete artistic works.
And completions from others become interesting hybrid works (like the completions of Mahler's 10th, many of which are interesting)
