Question 3: Data is essential in today’s digital world. By collecting and exploring the data, businesses can make better decisions on how to upgrade their products and give better customer service. Data should be kept safe through proper rules and protections.

That's a good example because this could happen. Sometimes, you will be asked to do something you didn't expect, and if it isn't part of your job description, then it might be up for debate. However, sometimes these new opportunities can actually turn out to be great because we learn new skills and have new opportunities to add to our resumes. It sounds like you dealt with it with a positive attitude and learned something new!

I had a experience with my new job working at the hospital, I was suppose to be a food service worker but they put me as a cook for 3 days of training, I do not mind to cook but I learnt so much in that 3 days of training and i have volunteered for cook at a camp and, and background for cook because I like to cook at home so I do not mind it but it was different when I had to change and adapt to my food service worker.

We are nearing the end of our chat; we have ten minutes left. Please feel free to share any more of your thoughts on question 2. And please go ahead and share any thoughts you have for question 3 as well: how does data play a crucial role in digital technology? Explore the importance of data collection, storage, analysis, and privacy in today's digital landscape. After you are done with that, please feel free to type in any questions you may have about anything we discussed today or about the course.

Great points! Transparency is key when it comes to change. People want the truth, and they want to feel like they are in the know of what is going on.  When organizations attempt to conceal or downplay information, it can lead to problems within the team. It is essential to learn how to share information diplomatically, sensitively, and strategically, without purposefully leaving out unnecessary details or being unclear. Omitting crucial information or being unclear can cause people to panic, stress, or become frustrated, which can negatively impact morale, productivity, and satisfaction.

Communicate often with a focus on what employees want to know. Provide updates when available and be clear about what in in progress.
Leanna Bliss
1:52
Excellent! What we are saying is that it is essential for organizations to include support in their strategy plans for change and training on new technology. Workplaces can appoint people, and supervisors/managers should be open-minded and available for support and questions.
Marilyn

Yes, I experienced this when I was moved to a new department with little knowledge of the role. It was overwhelming at first, but I asked questions, observed others, and took time to learn. Eventually, I adapted and gained valuable new skills from the experience.
Leanna Bliss
1:48
Thank you for sharing! Having someone to guide you through the changes can be invaluable, and this is something to consider when involved in a change. Working with new technology can be overwhelming for anyone, and having a person to answer questions or guide you can make the process easier, but also help you learn it quicker.

I find talking to the person or team implementing the change and voicing your concerns, so they can help you walk through the new steps helped me when I was going to new technology at work. Having someone walk with me to make a smoother transition really helped.
Leanna Bliss
1:46
Absolutely. We talked about this in the VC. Many people fear what they don't know, and changing can be uncomfortable. It's natural for us to want to stay in the familiar and what's comfortable, so it can be challenging when we're asked to change and move out of this comfortable space. How can organizations support their employees in accepting change and feeling uncomfortable or fearful about it?
Erika
1:44
Accepting change, which is really hard to do for lots of people, it is the fear of new change and it already easy and comfortable to know what you already know, you have to have a mindset and positive attitude to step out of your own comfort zone and just do it.
Leanna Bliss
1:43
What type of communication strategies have you noticed that work, or would think that would work, when communicating about change?
Lynn.Gosselin
1:41
Accepting change, and communication is very important when learning new technology, Staying positive and being a team player.
Leanna Bliss
1:43
Have you ever been in a situation where it was difficult to accept change? If so, what did you do?
Marilyn
1:40
First step is accepting change, then keeping a positive and open mindset. Alsso focusing on the things you can control, using available resources (research, ask questions, ask for help)
Leanna Bliss
1:42
Yes, engaging with your audience is a great way to stay connected. Customers want to feel important and valued. And if you can achieve this on social media, you may be able to create a more loyal customer base and experience better customer retention.

Engage with your audience, respond to comments, ask questions, and participate in conversations. another tip I had

In Module 2, we discussed adapting to change. Also, in VC Session 2, we discussed this concept further. Adapting to change is a crucial skill in today's fast-paced and ever-evolving world, particularly when it comes to working with technology. So, based on what you have learned so far or what you already know, how do you adapt to change and what has worked for you in the past and what hasn't worked for you?
1:36
We will move on to the next question soon, but if you have anything else you would like to say about social media tips, please feel free to share now.
1:35
Yes, research is always helpful. One strategy that a business can use is to create customer avatars. These are ideal customers who are designed to fully understand who they are talking to. Once you have a couple of these, you can make a targeted brand voice and base your content around that. If people are interested, I can add a bonus recording to the Kaltura Virtual Classroom on how to create a customer avatar.

you can do market research, and surveys help you learn who is your audience.
Erika
1:32
You got to respect everyone's different point of views, culture, and beliefs, not everyone has the same ideas and have different belief systems
Leanna Bliss
1:31
Yes, knowing your audience is critical. This is important for many reasons. How can a business know who its audience is and how to stick to it?
1:30
Yes, having a policy is a great idea. Communicating that policy will be important. However, we also have to consider going one step beyond that. Policies don't always capture the nuances of social media, so everyone must understand the company's vision and brand voice. Everyone needs to be razor-sharp on their strategy and their online voice, and learn how to stay within that strategy.
Lynn.Gosselin

Know your audience, and the culture for where your making your post.
Marilyn

They need to have a policy and follow it strictly

I had a rookie moment like this once on social media. One of the accounts I was managing, we posted a quote every week that aligned with the brand. Well, I found this quote to be funny, and it sort of related, yet was different. There was something inside me that said, 'This may not resonate with the entire audience.' It may land with some, not all. I posted it anyway and immediately regretted it. I deleted it almost right away, but someone did send a message and said they were surprised that it was posted on our page because it didn't match the brand voice. I agreed with them and apologized for it. I don't think it caused too much harm, as it was up there for a very short period of time, and we only had about 5,000 followers. Luckily, I followed my intuition and took it down, but I learned my lesson from that day to follow my intuition the first time about whether this would match the brand voice. I also could have shared it with someone beforehand to ask so that is a great point you added, Lynn.
Yes, great points, Erika and Lynn!

So, how can a business make sure they don't say anything offensive or off-brand that would affect its reputation?
