Great points, Marilyn! Authenticity and honesty are essential, as you want your customers to trust you.

  1. Be respectful, think before posting (am I okay with my post being on a billboard), authenticity (truthful/honest), proper spelling and grammar, respect privacy, correct use of hashtags

That's a good point, Lynn. Luckily, many things on social media can be deleted. However, it can still be observed beforehand. Someone could screenshot it before it gets deleted, and it could affect the brand.

Yes, that is fine! However, if you want to practice typing with your keyboard, then I suggest signing in on your computer. If you have access to a computer, it would be good practice.

One thing i have learned on social media is that it is permanent and you need to be careful how you type our response as someone might read it the wrong way and be offened.

One of my tips is to make sure to use high-quality images or videos, as this helps your page look credible and professional. It also helps to establish more trust with your audience, as trust is crucial when building a loyal customer base.

We will start with question 1 - feel free to share any social media tips you know or have learned so far and we can discuss them together.

It's beneficial to practice, as it can be challenging to transition from personal instant messaging to professional instant messaging. They are similar but require a different approach and different vocabulary. It's also good to get used to as you might be expected to use this in your future career. This also gives learners an opportunity to share in different ways and sometimes they feel more comfortable sharing this way than verbally.

Hello Erika and Lynn. Thanks for joining! This is one style of online chat specifically for a classroom, but there are other IM apps for workplaces like Slack that many businesses use. This is intended to emulate something similar.
