His 2.14 ERA looks great but is misleading.

Touched on this a bit already, but Pepiot could definitely be in there. He just doesn't have much experience yet. Given how much money they have, I think they can push him to #6. Yarbrough got non-tendered a year ago and scooped up by the Royals on a small deal. Has he changed significantly since then?

Touched on this in the outlook. I think he stays because he's already under contract for 3.5 million. But if they just eat that money and get someone else, I wouldn't be surprised.
They just have bigger priorities than spending 7-8 million on their backup catcher. (Barnes money combined with theoretical new guy.)

It's entirely possible, but I think there will be enough pressure for him to make some kind of decision since so many clubs and players will be waiting on him.

Depends on the White Sox for now. They supposedly want to try to contend again next year. Cease is their only good starter at the moment. Trading him means waving a white flag. Doesn't seem like they want to do that.

If Ohtani really wants to win, why would he sign a 10 year contract? What if that team doesn't win and stinks in 2 years? He will DEFINITELY have opt outs in his contract.

I doubt it. The Rays signed that extension before they lost Springs, Rasmussen and McClanahan to injury.
25MM is steep for them but they kinda need him.

I believe he's expected to potentially be back in the middle of next year.
Though it's tough to count on him after so many arm issues.
