No later than March 13-14

Bite the bullet and trade AB to Browns if they offer a 1st? Espn claims they are interested
Ed Bouchette
2:32
I'd do that in a heartbeat

After Bell & Brown are sent to the island of misfit toys, does the Steelers brass get back to the days of less tolerance (i.e., Bam Morris, Barry Foster, Tone Holmes) or is this the new normal with social media and monster contracts?
Ed Bouchette
2:33
As you so well point out, this isn't a new thing, is it?

Based on your opinion, how strong is the correlation between a players 40 time and their success in the NFL? Educate a layman here.....
Ed Bouchette
2:35
40 times are just one part of the evaluation. If I were a scout or GM, my evaluation would be to watch all the tape I can of him actually playing, then evaluate him mentally. I don't need track stars, I want someone who can play.
And someone who wants to play

Are you someone who thinks the Super Bowl window is closed or a few pieces away from competing? Or somewhere in between?
Ed Bouchette
2:36
It's not closed. They remain among the oddsmakers favorites in the AFC, top four or five anyway.

2:36
Hi Ed, Who do you think gives us the best trade for AB? How high of a pick you think we can get?
Ed Bouchette
2:37
I can't see anything higher than a low first. However, I have suggested that they could get say a second this year and a conditional first-second-third in 2020 based on his performance in 2019

If you were the Steelers GM for the next 2 weeks, what would you settle for in trading Brown?
Ed Bouchette
2:38
If you've been reading, you'd know I'd take anything just to get him out of here. Realistically, they should be able to get no less than a second. But he's not helping them there
Cut Me Ed... Cut me !
2:39
NFL Network is showing the week 14 game vs the Bills from 2016 right now... It's all there... Ben's ints with the staring at AB when it was Ben's fault... AB pursuing then tackling Gilmore after... The not even in the conversation for Gilmore to come, Bell's versatility & prowess... Obviously AB is all but traded/gone but is there anyway they resign Bell?
Ed Bouchette
2:39
No, they're not going to sign Bell. And you are watching a regular-season game from 2016? What do you do in your spare time?
DaquidoBazzini
2:40
Hi Ed - I'm one that thinks the Steelers are going to be way better off dealing AB for (preferably) a 1st or 2nd Round pick. If so, do you think it's better to take the two picks or move up in the 1st Round?
Ed Bouchette
2:41
It depends on who is available, as always. They used a lot of draft capital to go get Troy Polamalu and that worked out pretty well. They actually moved down to get Casey Hampton. Sometimes that works too.

2:41
do you think it is possible that AB should be in concussion protocol?  that is the only explanation for his insane behavior.
Ed Bouchette
2:41
I hardly think it's the only explanation.

2:42
Why not sign J James at bit more than you want to keep some stability on a roster becoming increasingly unstable with less diminishing talent?
Ed Bouchette
2:42
They would like to have James back but not going to overpay their No. 2 tight end.
Adam
2:42
If there is no ILB or CB available at #20 in the draft, what position do you think they'll target?
Ed Bouchette
2:43
OLB, DL, maybe even safety if he's graded that high. I also would not leave out WR, although I think they prefer defense.
Bill
2:43
Think the Steelers will grab an offensive lineman in the later rounds for depth
Ed Bouchette
2:44
They have pretty good depth at all the positions, even if Ramon Foster leaves, but you never discount offensive linemen, especially in the later rounds if you like one

Do you think that there is a chance that one team may request a trade for Brown and then trade him to yet another team?
Ed Bouchette
2:45
No, because that would cost them the $2.5 million roster bonus. And if that other team wants him, why wouldn't they just trade directly with the Steelers?

Do you think the HOF has a bias against the Steelers?  I can't imagine why 66 and 68 can't get enough votes.  I guess we will see next year when 43 is eligible.
Ed Bouchette
2:46
I think Troy will get in next year. It's not so much a bias as they may just be saying enough already. I've seen arguments made for some teams that they don't have enough HOFers even though they've been relatively successful through the years.
Thank you for another great chat. See you next Tuesday.
