Hi Ed, if the Steelers get a 1st round pick for AB and they have two 1st round picks does the team usually select two or use the extra to trade up/down?

In their modern history, which I peg at 1969 when Chuck Noll arrived, they've had two first-round picks only once. That was in 1989. They added a second No. 1 in trade for Mike Merriweather, a good linebacker who held out the entire 1988 season because he wanted a new contract. They traded him to Minnesota for the Vikings No. 1.
They did not do well with those two picks, drafting RB Tim Worley and OL Tom Ricketts. Both were busts.

Maybe they're not going to release him. Maybe they want to see what the draft/free agency might bring first. Maybe they'll do it with a June 1 designation. What's the rush?

Ed, your thoughts on K Colbert stating yesterday that the Steelers will change they way they draft CBs. They will start drafting CBs with VG coverage skills. Other teams have been doing that for at least 3-4 years.
