What's going on with Jerald Hawkins? I'm consistently seeing PPG writers talking about how the Steelers think he could be their LT of the future.
Ed Bouchette
2:18
He's practicing. What else is there to say at this time of year?
TK
2:18
Does Bryant look the same? Has he put on weight or anything like that? He hasn't played in a while.
Ed Bouchette
2:19
He gained 10 pounds of "muscle." Looks great
Tom
2:19
Can either Alualu or Walton play NG in addition to DE?
Ed Bouchette
2:19
Alualu can. I'm not sure about LT

Any news on bryants hip keep hereing reports on hip injury your thoughts please
Ed Bouchette
2:20
I've heard nothing about a hip injury and if he has one, he's running pretty well with it.

You think we'll scour the swamp for a free agent CB?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
I think that swamp has been drained.
2:21
He did it when the rules were tight, you think he's going to pull back now that they've loosened them?
Manny
2:21
Whats your take on Bell? Do they resign him or do they stick to the tag offer?
Ed Bouchette
2:22
I've said all along that I believe a long-term deal, while they'd like to get one done, will not happen.

How much time will Dobbs see behind center?
Ed Bouchette
2:23
I'm not sure what you mean. He's a rookie QB. You mean in practice? In games? In preseason? During season?

Of the recently retired Steelers, Polamalu, Porter and Ward, who makes it into the HOF?
Ed Bouchette
2:23
Troy
I'm not sure "content" would be correct but it will be hard to find someone else this summer. The good ones are settled in.

Where is the most reliable place to buy tickets? Traveling from Kansas
Ed Bouchette
2:24
On one of those reliable ticket web sites, even the teams have them.

The Steelers keep at least 3 RBs on the roster right? You are telling me that Touissant and Knile Davis are better than D. Will?
Ed Bouchette
2:25
Well, for one thing, they were healthier and younger.
Mike from Florida
2:25
Ed, so you think Conner will be used more to spell Bell, than Deangelo was?
Ed Bouchette
2:25
Yes. Remember, Williams really only played when Bell was either hurt or suspended
Rick
2:25
Do you think a TE would have been taken in the draft if they had known Green would not pass physical? Also why wasn't a physical given before the draft? Thank you.
Ed Bouchette
2:26
How do you know it wasn't? Maybe they just had other priorities and then there were no tight ends that appealed to them later.
What's the big deal about finding a tight end?
Joe G
2:26
Do the Steelers still have faith in Mike Mitchell on the back of that D or will this be his final year?
Ed Bouchette
2:26
He has 2 years left on his contract and I think he'll play both here. Yes, they do still have faith in him.

Hi Ed...where are the real open spots on this roster this year..is it cb..or ilb..
Ed Bouchette
2:28
By "spots" if you mean starters, there are few open ones. One is at No. 2 WR, where Martavis Bryant can easily lock that down by just not getting suspended. Vince Williams moves up at ILB. A corner could eventually compete with Cockrell, but I don't see that happening early.

Why hold onto Gay when these youg kids need reps? Injury protection?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
He can play different positions and knows how to play the game. The young corners will get enough reps. Also, it's not like they are overflowing with proven corners.

why do you think a long term deal with Bell will NOT get done??
Ed Bouchette
2:30
Because he will be paid slightly more than $12 million for this season and he will not want to average less than that. There seems to be little incentive on either side to do a long-term deal. They could franchise him again in 2018.
Plus, there is that injury history as well as the other history that got him suspended twice.

Can L. Bell be tagged once or twice more after 2017?
Ed Bouchette
2:30
Two times, total.

What are you thoughts on moving Gay to Safety? He is a solid tackler and CB skills would play well using him as a center fielder type to allow Davis to roam a bit more ala Troy P and Clark.
