Ed Bouchette
1:59
Good afternoon, let's begin
Ryan
1:59
Ed, i know Colbert said not to expect a splash but they have to sign at least 1 starting caliber player in free agency right?
Ed Bouchette
2:00
You'd think so, but there is not a hint of them doing anything during this negotiation period.
Gary
2:00
Hi Ed. If a good Safety were available but no Corner in the draft, would the Steelers consider trying Davis at Corner? Also, I know he's undersized, but wouldn't Hilton be worth a shot as number 2 Corner?
Ed Bouchette
2:02
They don't want to do either. They could use another safety, so they can play 3 but Davis is not an outside corner and Hilton has never played there. Better they go find someone to do it.
Odog
2:02
Hi Ed, what is the current salary cap situation for the Steelers? Thanks.
Ed Bouchette
2:03
Overthecap has them at $16 million plus room. That's with Marcus Gilbert out
2:04
That also reflects their removal of Antonio Brown
jim
2:04
What combination will the Steelers have to put together to move up in the draft to get one of the covetive linebacker they so desperately need?
Ed Bouchette
2:05
They'd have to use that 3 they get from Oakland, which may get them 5 spots or so
Doug from Raleigh
2:05
The fan base is upset because the return for Brown is less than originally thought.  I would have accepted even less just to get rid of him.  Your position,  good sir?
Ed Bouchette
2:05
I was on record saying they needed to get rid of him, even if it's a bag of balls that aren't even inflated.
Joe G
2:06
Can you please explain the Foster signing?  Talk about bidding against yourself? Finney is ready to start now and your give Foster a raise?
Ed Bouchette
2:06
I thought the signing was a good one. How do you know someone wouldn't have offered him more? And if Finney, who can become a UFA next year, starts, who is the backup guard?
Maryann
2:06
Is there any way the Oakland Raiders could also afford Lev Bell??
Ed Bouchette
2:07
I've heard not because they're spending all of their money on tackles
bill
2:07
can AR 2 get the steelers back under control in your opinion
Ed Bouchette
2:07
It would appear he's doing that
Rc
2:08
Ed  who are you hearing that the Steelers will be bringing in  for a free agent visit?
Ed Bouchette
2:08
I've heard no one's name yet
The Truth
2:08
Do you think the Steelers will try to pick up another back either via the draft or FA to put behind Conner and Samuels? I think that is an issue nobody is talking about as much. If Conner gets hurt, Samuels will need someone else behind him.
Ed Bouchette
2:09
I'm with you on that one. Art II said he is happy with those two but I believe you need one more, especially with Samuels untested. They had a vet last year with those  2 but he wasn't very good.
Jeff M
2:10
Do you expect any upcoming moves to create more cap space?
Ed Bouchette
2:10
Ben's new contract should do some of that and I could see them releasing Burnett and signing another safety, which may be a wash for cap purposes
Rahn
2:10
Why would the team float the "the deal's not done until it's done" line that Gerry tweeted? Barring more compensation or backing out of the deal, what's the point of saying that?
Ed Bouchette
2:11
Perhaps because you never know what AB might do/say before Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Cody
2:11
What are your thoughts on the possibility of the Steelers offering Bell a contract right now?
Ed Bouchette
2:11
My thoughts are they won't.
The Truth
2:11
Am I the only one not drooling over the Browns? There's all this hype about their team and how they're going to win the division, but in reality they still didn't even break .500 again. I agree they have potential, but I think the hype train needs to slow down.
Ed Bouchette
2:13
Browns will be better, but those who are labeling them as the division favorites should go to Vegas, or the Pittsburgh casino that will take their bets. The odds are pretty good for them
Andy
2:13
Does it surprise you that after 25 years of free agency, Steelers fans are still surprised by the team's approach in free agency?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
They live in a world of instant gratification, and making splashes. Splashes don't win Super Bowls. Neither have the Steelers in the past 10 years but they believe their way is best. Another team that rarely dives deep into free agency: New England.
Neal
2:15
FA WRs like John Brown and funchess getting 9-12M per (impossible for Pit). why don’t steelers alter the deal and tell raiders they want a first or its off.
Ed Bouchette
2:16
Because they made a deal. They'll get their WR in the draft, third round.
CoCofromLouisville
2:16
We can finally make a (little) splash in FA and what do we do?!? NOTHING! GM admitted last year that we didn't do enough to fill the shoes of Shazier.... and what do we have to show for it this year? NOTHING
Ed Bouchette
2:17
Free agency starts Wednesday at 4 and while there have been a few iLBs signed for enormous amounts, maybe the Steelers will go another route, get their ILB in the draft, sign a DB in free agency.
Denver Dan
2:17
What is the current relationship between James Harrison and the Steelers? Seem
Ed Bouchette
2:18
Cordial, although you might not want to put him and Tomlin in the same room
Michael
2:18
What’s Eli Rogers’ status for 2019? I thought he added something to the O when he came back late last season. JuJu, Washington, Switzer, and Rogers is a good starting point for their WR group in 2019.
Ed Bouchette
2:19
He is a UFA, free to sign elsewhere
