L Bells latest twitter blast last night is wearing thin on fan base.  At what point will team have had enough or is there nothing he could do at this point for them to cut him loose?
Ed Bouchette
2:14
Saw that, and saw all the negative responses to it. They are not going to cut him loose this year.

Why do you think the Steelers are so cagey when addressing questions about the draft?  If they tried to trade up, and it didn't work, just say so.    I would just appreciate more transparency.
Ed Bouchette
2:14
If they said that, they they are saying their No. 1 pick really wasn't the guy they wanted. So they're not going to say it.

Schedule looks rough this year (especially with travel), and the defense wasn't fixed.  Think the Steelers may drop down to 9-7?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
Eight of their nine games were decided by 6 points or less last season and they won 8 of those. So anything's possible, but the oddsmakers have them as 10.5 wins over-under, and that's second most that I've seen, behind only Patriots

Hi Ed, Steelers are set at FB, and would think TE.. Where does Samuels fit in? 3rd Down and 3rd RB? Obviously ST if he sticks... Thanks
Ed Bouchette
2:16
He will determine that, but he's a unique talent who could make the roster as a third tight end/hback
Tom
2:16
Ed,  Had you heard anything from the Steelers regarding Edmunds before the draft?  Thank you.
Ed Bouchette
2:16
No, they pretty much kept their mouths shut
Dude_From_Cali
2:17
Ed, why does NFL brass think kick off returns are more prone to concussions than say, PUNT returns? Same risk?
Ed Bouchette
2:17
On kickoff returns, everyone running full speed. punt returns, they're not

Any rough estimate on how much cash will be left over once picks are signed to go after a late-cut ILB or OLB like with Haden last year?
Ed Bouchette
2:18
OverTheCap has Steelers with $6 million in cap space after they released Wilcox.
AJ Hughes
2:18
Who do you believe will get cut Landry or Dobbs?
Ed Bouchette
2:18
I believe it will be Dobbs who goes, but that could change as they go through camp

2:19
Ed, after the way Jacksonville ran over the Steelers D are you surprised that basically nothing was done to improve the front 7?
Ed Bouchette
2:19
They desperately needed an ILB and they did not get one in the draft. That may be their Achilles Heel
Tom
2:19
Ed,  Colbert is pretty savy and he knows the ILB is a major area of concern so I suspect between now and Sept 9th that will be addressed in a good way.
Ed Bouchette
2:19
Unless they trade  for one, there's no good ones left

The main rule for rd 1 is can't miss/instant contributor... happy talk aside, a serious shoulder injury to a if healthy project S is just inexcusable... can you forward your chat trans to Kevin Colbert?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
Heath Miller had hernia surgery before they drafted him.

Ed, You've written and I've seen elsewhere that more concussion injuries happen in soccer than football at every level. Why don't soccer leagues have the kind of heat put on them that football does?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
Because  they probably haven't studied enough brains of  dead soccer players.
Dude_From_Cali
2:21
Ed, with the few Millions left over after rookie salaries and no FA worth signing, what will Colbert do with the surplus CAP?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
He could start by signing Chris Boswell to a long-term deal
Scatch The Teflon
2:22
Why is sign & trade Bell out of the question again?
Ed Bouchette
2:22
Because at this point, who would start at RB for them?

What would you say your worst predraft assumption has been in your career?
Ed Bouchette
2:23
That the Steelers would draft an inside linebacker high in 2018
Justin
2:23
Are the Steelers done in FA?  Could they still bring in a WR or LB?
Ed Bouchette
2:24
As the Joe Haden signing last September showed, free agency never ends
RiverRat

I don't know if I'm alone in this, but did the Browns just have the dumbest draft in the history of NFL?  The could have had RB Barkley , which is about as close to a sure thing as you can get, and a choice of elite QB's.  I'm just dumbfounded that they could be that stupid again with different leadership group.
Ed Bouchette
2:24
Maybe they had their QB rated higher than anyone else and believed he was the man.

Do you think we may see more Hargrave during 2nd and med going to a 3-3-5 instead of their normal 4-2-5? to help against run and makeup for lack of depth at LB
Ed Bouchette
2:25
I think you'
are more likely to see more 4-1-6
Alan
2:25
What's your take on Edmunds? Seems to be a lot of varying opinions on him.
Ed Bouchette
2:25
Never saw him play. I'll have to go with the Steelers' assessment

Are the Steelers just crossing their fingers for a Bud DuPree breakout?  Its going to difficult to make a SB run with him in the starting lineup.
