Considering his career, would you consider James Harrison for the Steelers Hall of Honour?
Ed Bouchette
2:19
I certainly would. Not early-on but eventually.

I’ve been reading that the new kickoff rule will create a greater number of opportunities for long returns. Could this incentivize teams to attempt more returns out of the end zone, hence making the kickoff more dangerous?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
You are a deep thinker. Yes, on all counts.

Landry Jones' contract is up at the end of this coming season, correct? Wouldn't keeping both Rudolph and Dobbs be the wisest move to ensure long-term security at the QB position?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
Only if one of them shows he can keep the train on its tracks if Ben misses some games.

Looking back one year ago, after one OTA - is our D better, or worse off now compared to then?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
Better in the secondary, not so much at linebacker.

When you're covering OTA's does the team provide water/coffee or are the media people on their own? Do you have shade? A big floppy hat? What are the conditions for you guys?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
They serve us drinks with umbrellas in them out on the patio by the pool.

Have you ever seen anything like Senquez Golson? High draft pick that couldn't even practice due to injuries.
Ed Bouchette
2:24
Actually, I just wrote about one today but he never played for the Steelers. Ex Pitt and Gateway star Bob Buczkowski died last Wednesday. He was the Raiders first-round pick in 1986 and did not play a game as a rookie because of injuries and went on to play just two games for the Raiders. The story should be online sometime this afternoon. Check it out.

You and your colleagues find interesting things to write about the Steelers all year, during training camp, the season, and then the draft. When do the coaches and front office get their vacations?
Ed Bouchette
2:25
The coaches usually take off from the end of minicamp in mid-June to the start of training camp at the end of July

Hi Ed, Thanks for the time.  I'm hoping Bradley can "coach up" our secondary and I believe he can.  My question is whether or not he will have any influence on the scheme of the defense.  Your thoughts?
Ed Bouchette
2:26
I am sure all the defensive coaches have input on the scheme

Did you hear something of Martavis in Oakland? Do you still think it was a good idea to traded him?
Ed Bouchette
2:28
They got a third-round pick, which sort of turned into QB Mason Rudolph. So we'll know maybe several years from now. But I thought they could have kept Bryant, still drafted the WR in the second round and they could have had the best four WR in the league.

Ed - after the initial week of OTA's.......what would be your guess as to rather or not Mason Rudolph can surpass Landry Jones into the number 2 slot?
Ed Bouchette
2:28
Way too early for that

Have you ever taken the time to do an all time steelers roster?  Big Benn or Terry etc...
Ed Bouchette
2:29
No, but I think the brunt of it if I did would be from their 1970s rosters

Do we really need Bell? Can we substitute him with the players that we have?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
Yes, they need him because they committed to him and did not  bring in a proven starter

Hello Ed....Curious what you expect from T.J. Watt this season. I feel he has Pro Bowl potential in his future. Thank you
Ed Bouchette
2:30
Going off his rookie season, I think he will become a star, maybe even this year

What NFL players do TJ and JuJu remind you of? I have heard a lot of Boldin comparisons for JuJu but I am curious who you see
Ed Bouchette
2:31
The obvious for TJ is JJ, JuJu, as many have pointed out, is Hines Ward-like, although with more deep potential
JuJu

Over or under 80 catches, 1,000 yards, 9 touchdowns for me this season???
Ed Bouchette
2:32
Way under

Is Bell serious about his musical career?   Is he popular enough to sell his stuff?
Ed Bouchette
2:32
He seems to be serious, but I know nothing about that business.

2:33
Hi Ed Will the Steelers run a 2 tight ed offense, if not has Vance overtaken JJ as the primary TE? Thanks
Ed Bouchette
2:33
They have often done so in the past and I see no reason for that to change
SCL
2:34
Purely a hypothetical, but do you believe the Steelers season ends different had Shazier not gotten hurt? Perhaps with a Lombardi?
Ed Bouchette
2:34
I do believe they would have held Jacksonville under 45 points

I thought the chats stopped after the draft,  until training camp?  Who did you PO to sentence you to more of this?  It's year round, now?  :O
Ed Bouchette
2:35
It keeps me in football chat shape for the real season.

Which rookie looks the most “pro ready”? Do you foresee a big impact from either of our top picks?
Ed Bouchette
2:35
I believe James Washington can be that man.
