is DeCastro going to miss time?
Ed Bouchette
2:18
My guess is no. He's not going to let a broken hand stop him.

Hi Ed - Jordan Berry does not seem as effective or consistent as they need. Is Wile still available and any chance the Steelers look to make a change there?
Ed Bouchette
2:19
I believe the other punter was claimed by the Vikings.

Is Jesse James a top tier tight end?  He dropped the ball at the 17 AFCG and the Patriot game at the goal line.  Know the rulebook if you are a player.  Then yesterday it's not like he had anyone on him when he volleyballed that pass behind him.  Is Vance McDonald going to be back this week?
Ed Bouchette
2:19
No, he's never been a top-tier tight end. I can't answer the McDonald question, but Mike Tomlin did not mention him today.

Ed, your thoughts on Dupree's performance Tomlin seems to be impressed ranking it with Watt's.
Ed Bouchette
2:20
I wouldn't rank it with Watt's, but I thought he had his moments. But then, he was going against an undrafted rookie left tackle.

Bostic looked pretty good - thoughts?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
Yes, I thought he did too. HE had a sack, and he was third on defense with nine total tackles, including another for a loss and a quarterback pressure.

I realize its only one game...but in your opinion, are the Steelers a better team than they were last year?
Ed Bouchette
2:22
Before Ryan Shazier's injury? No. They are better in the secondary, though.

When Bell comes back (assuming week 10), it seems like the logical thing to do is sit him for the two week waiver period even if just for the practice reps, but should the Steelers be worried about his commitment even when he returns?
Ed Bouchette
2:23
Yes, I think they should be concerned because it's obvious he is staying away to preserve himself. What's to stop him from trying to do that once he returns?

It seems the Steelers D is always good for about 7 sacks against the Browns, padding the season stats a bit. A product of the Browns pass pro being bad, or do you think our pass rush the real deal?
Ed Bouchette
2:27
The Steelers led the NFL last season with 56 sacks, so I'm not sure why you think they would not be the "real deal" this season.

why did tomlin mention Ben's elbow injury as an injury if its just as he says 'bumps and bruises'?
Ed Bouchette
2:27
I have no idea, really. Maybe it's something real.

Realize it’s only game one, How would you assess the ILB play? Thanks
Ed Bouchette

They exceeded expectations.

Deception in play calling might be the most important thing to help a HC/OC maximize his talent.  Look at the success guys like Sean McVay have had, not to mention Belichick.  More play action, more sprint draws from shotgun.  Less straight handoffs from jumbo sets, and passing out of empty sets, where everyone in the stadium knows the play call.  What say you?

You're hired.

Over / Under 13 for TJ Watt's sack count this year?
Ed Bouchette
2:28
After three games, maybe?

Any thoughts on James Washington not being a factor offensively?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
You have to play to be a factor.
As I mentioned earlier, I was surprised they did not put him in a position during the week to play more in Cleveland.

Why did the Steelers redo some contracts recently to free up cap space?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
Maybe they wanted to give Le'Veon Bell more money this year to entice him to report as some people suggested.
I am kidding

Do you and Gerry still do your video reports after each game?  I can't seem to find them.
Ed Bouchette
2:30
Yes, we do. I believe it was posted. Often, you can find the video inserted in my story from Sunday

Do you think the Steelers just made Bell's point about workload by not subbing in for JC? All 30+ touches would have been on Bell's shoulders...
Ed Bouchette
2:31
I never heard Bell complain about workload, except when he said he did not get the ball enough against Jacksonville in the regular season last year.
Scott

can the franchise tag be converted to the transition tag (for Bell)?
Ed Bouchette
2:31
Nothing can be converted this year. Next year, they can put the franchise tag or the transition tag on him.

How on earth did those "Officials" miss the trajectory of the ball changing after hitting Chubb's helmet??
Ed Bouchette
2:32
Maybe they weren't looking. The guy in the NFL office who reviewed it should have caught it.

Do you think the Steelers should have got closer for Boswell? 42 yard FG in a rain storm?
Ed Bouchette
2:32
I believe they tried, but 42 yards is not a long distance, even in the rain, for today's kickers.
It also was a high snap
