Did Tomlin seem a little up tight for his press conference?  Seemed to be using painting with a broad brush very often.  I think he realizes the gravity of this mess.
Ed Bouchette
2:17
I wouldn't say he was out of the norm today, and I'm sure he realizes the position his team is in.

Are jet ski's the safest place to protect your body for next years paycheck?
Ed Bouchette
2:18
Don't know but by the photo I saw of him on one of the jet ski, his body looks a little bigger

If the Steelers are out of the playoff chase when Bell decides to return, Does it make any sense to rescind the tag?
Ed Bouchette
2:19
Not really. They can apply for a 2-week roster exemption and not pay him for those two weeks either. Then, when he leaves as a free agent they should get a third-round comp pick for him in 2020. If you pull the tag, you get nothing in return but the money savings.

Did anyone play well for the Steelers' defense on Sunday? Or, were they all terrible?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
Daniel McCullers had the only sack on just five defensive snaps.

Hi Ed, can you tell us your thoughts on what Brown's issue is?
Ed Bouchette
2:22
He wants his stats, is what I can only surmise

if you had to brush with broad strokes, what was the single biggest contributing factor to the D getting beat down Sunday? (I didn’t get to watch the game, thankfully it seems).
Ed Bouchette
2:23
Not enough talent

Hi Ed, great chat as always - are officials allowed to review plays for penalties? Seems like that's what they were doing on that Ben/Line of scrimmage play, no?
Ed Bouchette
2:24
They cannot use it to look for, say, holding penalties, but I do believe they can use it to see if the QB threw the ball after passing the LOS
Jack

Ed,  In your humble opinion is this the worst Steeler defense you have covered?
Ed Bouchette
2:24
Not by a long shot, no. I refer you to 1988.

Hi Ed is it Tomlin’s decision alone on handling the A.B. situation or will Rooney or Colbert have a say?
Ed Bouchette
2:25
I would think Mike Tomlin since this involves him not showing up for work. If it was something off the field, that would be another matter
Chris
2:26
All this drama would have never happened under Cowher and now that all his players are gone except Ben Roethlisberger it's a very bad look for Tomlin and Colbert
Ed Bouchette
2:26
Bill Cowher's teams had their share of drama, as did Chuck Noll's

At this point, isnt DuPree a major liability and waste of cap... Add in his nasty tweet.... Cut him?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
They only have 3 outside linebackers on the roster. You're stuck with him this year
Miss Tackles

Agree Bell is now Fat. Another Mendenhall type  retirement coming?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
Mendenhall "retired" because no one wanted him.

Why did we see so much of Chickillo did Bud get hurt
Ed Bouchette
2:31
It was hot on sunday and they only have 3 OLBs. Probably needed a blow. Chickillo played 10 plays on defense, 17 percent. Dupree and Watt each played 53 plays, 91 percent of the 58 defensive plays on Sunday.

How does Samuels look? Any chance we get to see him in the mix this week?
Ed Bouchette
2:32
Not sure. Haven't seen him at RB since the preseason.
Thank you for another great chat, see you next Tuesday
