Just nuts all around on the Fowler news. I think it means the Cubs realize they shouldn't BANK on Schwarber/Soler for a 600 PA season just yet; it bodes well for getting Kim back up in the lineup, too

Am I crazy to badly want George Springer on my team this year? I just have the feeling he will break out. I had this feeling with Granderson in 2011, Harper last year, Goldy in 2013 and Altuve in 2014.

Not necessarily. He is still v young and they have several leader-types on that club. Performance doesn't dictate who leads, that's just horseshit propped up by media and fans. It doesn't really work that way on any team. Like Lucroy wasn't a leader in 2014 and then ceded leadership to Khris Davis bc his OPS fell, ya know?

I already wasn't taking Schwarber at his silly cost, but yeah it bumps Soler/Baez down a little. But it's a loooong season. Things happen.
