MOOKIE. BETTS.

A little better.

Is anything touching Holy Mountain in the Seattle area? 70 to 80 grade sours, hop-forward beers, and stouts IMO.
Eno Sarris
1:27
I didn't taste anything close while I was there and I tried around ten local breweries. Cloudburst was p good.

if you could interview any historic player, who would it be and why?
Eno Sarris
1:27
Pedro because grips and all of his knowledge.

So, 96mph with mechanics that looked like no one ever taught him how to throw off a mound. If Christian Bethencourt can't developt the Bat and can't stick at any other position long-term, it is worth it to see if he could stick as a relief pitcher?
Eno Sarris
1:28
For sure that will happen if it doesn't work with the bat.

With fastball spin rate is more always better? If more spin tends to give a fastball "rise" wouldn't that be a bad thing for a sinkerballer?
Eno Sarris
1:28
yeah more spin is only good for four-seamers.
Bork

Aren't the catchers pretty much the pitchers voice at the plate to the umps?
Eno Sarris
1:28
Also good point.

How did you break into writing? I'm super into both of your areas of expertise (I've driven 8 hours to purchase a specific beer and owned a Mark Lemke jersey well into the 2000s). I'd love to cover either professionally but am unsure how to begin.
Eno Sarris

I wrote for free for a while, took on a bigger role and then ownership at a small site, then took paying gigs and smaller sites, cobbled it together into a terribly paying job and pushes pushed pushed into a poorly paying job. Got lucky, but also always said yes and worked as hard as my wife would let me. We can always use writers at BG.

Single-cut has exploded in Philly. People are going nuts over every release.
Eno Sarris
1:31
hopefully I'll find some at a bar if I don't make the trek.

You know we have a subway here right?
Ceetar
1:31
Singlecut distributes and is a little more available than Other Half and Threes. It's also not really near subway.

I'm in the city i lived in for seven years for four days. I might not want to spend two hours traveling to a brewery is all I'm saying.

Will bat boys being able to wear capes be in the new CBA discussions?
Eno Sarris

LETS GET TO THE REAL QUESTIONS.

What would your walk up music be?
Eno Sarris

Ratatat but I've been searching for a new answer.

How much Clement Greenberg did you have to read in college? Too much?
Eno Sarris
1:33
Too. Much.

Haven't been able to take part in any chats lately, miss 'em. But have a beer question - any stouts I should get out and try...I use Beergraphs, but just off top of your head...

If you can get a Deschutes seasonal (Abyss, Black Butte), they are the bee's knees. Easily available, Old Rasputin is fine.

my 2 year old son appears to be a lefty. When should I start teaching him how to throw the knuckle?
Eno Sarris
1:34
Would be the first, right?

Are pitching mechanics quantifiable? e.g. if there a way to measure the effect of an arm angle on ball movement or grip on break angle?
Eno Sarris
1:35
Some part, yes. I'd like to start looking into spin axis, but we'll see about that data. Theoretically you could match spin axis and spin rate with arm angle and grip.
Bork

The next new market advantage will be investing in cyborg technology. I want a pitcher with a robot arm throwing 140.
Eno Sarris

We'll have the same steroid discussion.
And we'll look on this steroid discussion as being quaint.

Skye Bolte is clearly in the wrong industry - that's an adult film star name. If he wants to make it in MLB he needs to change his name to Bucky or Dusty ASAP

I opened my Bourbon County Rare wanting to hate it. I mean, a $60 bottle (on the low end!). But I'll be damned if it wasn't phenomenal.

When you're in NYC you gotta get a beer at Keg and Lantern in Greenpoint BK. There's one guy who brews all the beers and they are excellent
