DeScallopini looked good vs CHC. I know you have been a fan -- still happy with current version?
Eno Sarris

Good nickname. I like that slider/curve combo, he's settled in there, and the Ks are coming. yes.

On the podcast (Sleeper and the Bust) you mentioned you're still holding on to Duda. I am as well, but I am in a 10-tm league. I don't have anyone else on the DL thus far. Should I continue to hold hoping he can provide the power?
Eno Sarris
1:05
I'd move on. He's probably at least a couple weeks out still, probably more.

Heading out to Concord today. Can we get confirmation that Monument Liquors is still dealing the Pliny???

Stroman has thrown 38% sliders his past two starts, way more than ever. 25% whiff rate on it those two starts as well, also way more than ever. Maybe not coincidentally, his best two starts since May 1. What are your expectations for him ROS? Worth holding onto in a 14-team keeper?
Eno Sarris

"throw your best pitch more often" is a thing people do, it worked for Shoemaker. I'd hold.

Should I hold onto hope for Buchter or do you think Maurer will hold it down despite a few missteps?
Eno Sarris
1:06
I have hope for Buchter still.

Seems like you guys do a lot of big data and data analytics in this line of work. Were most of you comp sci majors? I ask because I am an Operations Research major who is curious about possibly getting into sports analytics at some point. How realistic is that with my major?
Eno Sarris
1:07
I don't think any of us were comp sci majors except for maybe Dolinar. Maybe Appelman. The rest of us are just an amalgamation of self taught bumblers.
Or maybe I'm projecting, maybe I'm the only self taught bungler. But I have degrees in Art History, Psychology, and Media Studies.

Hi Eno. You once said on a Pod that Mengeden's funky delivery would serve him well his first time through the league. Has that stance changed (+ or -)? Would you start him (AL only) vs. Stros tomorrow? Thanks!
Eno Sarris
1:08
He has legit deceptive movement, too, which I discovered in prep for our convo. Over the top release plus good horizontal movement. I'd start him in ALO.

I'm holding out for a hero. But will accept a gyro.

Who would be the spork of MLB players?
Eno Sarris
1:09
So, mildly useful in multiple ways, but somehow less than the parts? Danny Santana?

Is there a time and a place for drinking a crappy domestic macrobrew lager?
Eno Sarris

Flippy cup race, on a boat, at a sporting event without other options.

Is Ryan Dull a top reliever? His peripherals are meh, but he has the record for most runners inherited stranded and looks like an IV of ice water would raise his body temperature.
Eno Sarris
1:10
Really really really good slider.
BigPapi
1:10
Based on the exit velocity piece that you recently wrote, should I be selling Danny Salazar high (10-tm standard)?
Eno Sarris
1:10
He has the propensity for throwing dick-high fastballs down the middle. it's going to make him less than his stuff always.

I heard you on the ESPN-Chicago radio station while driving on my lunch break. I instantly thought, "Sideshow Bob, yakking it up on the old yak box."

Potential chat host tip: Post time question was asked so we know where you're at in queue, how back-logged, etc.?

It really doesn't sound like you give Estevez much of a shot at holding the closer job.
Eno Sarris
1:12
No, I don't think so, not with McGee and Ottavino behind him.

Hi Bork Jr hope you're enjoying Borkwifes womb. Glad to see our wifi is in there.

1:13
would the yanks be better off trying to package miller, chapman and beltran together for a better return? Or do they hold more value individually?
Eno Sarris
1:13
Man that would reshape a bullpen pretty quickly, wouldn't it? I'd love to see this.

Brewers pen for spec saves? Does Jeffress go this July? Hard tho because Smith or Thornbeeg also could move.
Eno Sarris
1:14
They holding out for a Kimbrel package but is someone going to give the Kimbrel package for Jeffress?

Do releivers generally have lower babips against than starters?

Which is more likely, Pirates Trade Austin Meados, Pirates Convert Austin Meadows to a corner Outfielder, Pirates Convert McCutchen to a corner outfielder?
Eno Sarris
1:15
Meadows has a minus arm. Cutch trade just seems to make the most sense.

Not a question for Eno, but a comment for Curious George. FWIW, I'm in a similar boat as you, just a couple of years in the future as I'm going into my second year of law school. I've started doing some baseball writing on the side, and it's gone well so far, so go for it. Just some words of encouragement.

Which breweries in Boston are 80-grade visits? And what Gose should I buy tonight?
Eno Sarris
1:16
Trillium for take away, they don't have a tap room in there, but you can drink around the corner at Row 24. Go to Night Shift. I like the Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose.
