Does the spin on Seth Lugo's curbe make him legit
Eno Sarris
12:58
I traded Charlie Tilson for him! I mean, yeah, I think it's a legit pitch, and his fastball is fine, and I think that slider is good enough to make him average overall. Who knows if there's more, but at least he's in the right park/league to not have a ton of stuff working against him.

Tyler O'Neill - up by June and slugging or Quad A for life?
Eno Sarris
12:59
More the former than the latter. Definitely up and slugging, but I wonder about the K/BA.

Your sandwiches look disgusting but I like your hair so idk
Eno Sarris

Some of them are disgusting, I'll admit that. The good ones... the good ones make me dance around my kitchen.

Going to Chicago for a Jays series in August - never been to Chicago before - any recommendations?
Eno Sarris

Yo I'm leading a beer and baseball tour that weekend for Pitch Talks... if you're on that, I'm the guy taking you guys to bars and sandwich/taco spots.

Trumbo is gonna get more money than Bautista isn't he? That's a little crazy, right?

Age tho!

For fantasy purposes, what is the first stat you look at for prospects? HR? OBP? SLG? ISO? wRC+?
Eno Sarris
1:01
K%, ISO.

Gut check: where does EE land and what kind of deal can he actually pull down at this point?
Eno Sarris
1:01
I'm still thinking he can at least get that 4/80.

Clutch is a thing, don't believe people who say clutch isn't a thing
Eno Sarris
1:03
I believe that different people react differently to stressful situations. I also believe that major league baseball selects out the people that are really bad at reacting to stressful situations.

You have any fear of Darvish next year, or does half a season of dominance put injury fears to bed?
Eno Sarris
1:03
Should be fine for a couple more seasons.

Thanks to Die Buergermeisterin for continuing the Euro theme

Better MLB uniform mandate: everyone has to wear stockings or everyone has to wear no-finger mittens?
Eno Sarris

Stockings!

Billy Wagner is the most awesome pitcher ever because he was a right-handed LHP. That alone should get him into HOF

I miss beer chats! Mostly just wanted to share that I had a MT Accumulated Knowledge last night and it was great. Best CA version of a NEIPA I've had yet.

Do Ottavino and Iglesias close all year? Or do the Rox and Reds screw that up?
Eno Sarris
1:05
They'll close!

What is your process for evaluating command?
Eno Sarris
1:06
Man I don't know. It's so hard. I try to watch some, I will look at BB% a little, but not all of course, I take a peak at HR/9.

Thoughts on Nova back to the Pirates? Looks pretty good for the Buccos, they paid a lot less than I think most were expecting.
Eno Sarris
1:06
Yeah I didn't like him at $50m but at $26m it's fine. He could be a really good reliever, too.

The high leverage thing still seems to be detracting from the purpose of WAR. Wouldn't you have to account for PH being in high leverage situations too? And then for every AB you'd have to see the situation it takes place in. It becomes WPA, which is a useful stat, but not indicative of true talent level like WAR.
Eno Sarris
1:07
Well WAR is actually probably trying to give you True Value rather than True Talent.

Is Tanaka the scariest pitcher to own in MLB? You might get a Cy Young season, or you might finally learn that yes, you do need tendons in order to pitch.
Eno Sarris
1:07
I asked people in the game what people outside the game might be surprised to find out and one person said "every pitcher is injured." http://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/18233368/sarris-going-record-baseball-winter-meetings

Does anyone in the baseball industry talk about VR experiences? I want to put on a VR headset and have a dugout experience of watching a real-time MLB game. Surely there are some professionals in the industry who are working on or at least considering this type of format, right?
Eno Sarris
1:08
I think there is some talk about doing it for training purposes, and I"m sure someone at MLB office is thinking about it for fans.

Eno, cheap rotation can include Hendricks, Shoemaker, Estrada, Folty, Pomeranz, Eickhoff, Tillman, Bundy. Would that be the rough order you'd rank them in?
Eno Sarris

Hendricks, Shoe, Bundy, Eickhoff, Pom, Estrada, Folty, Tillman.

I have an interview for a promotion this afternoon, and I was more nervous about getting food on my suit at lunch than I am about the actual interview.

I can pick up Cotton or Guerra in a keep forever, but I'm competitive right now. Oh yea, and it's a time travel league where we get to use the stats from PREVIOUS YEAR every year.
