Do you have a celebrity crush?

Salma Hayek?

Kind of an out of the blue question - but any advice on the best ways to learn SQL? Seems like a requirement to work in baseball and it isn't often taught in many college programs
Eno Sarris
12:53
Google! It's fairly easy and a lot of the stuff out there can teach it to you for free. I don't even know it that well, I just frankenstein queries together by taking a little bit of that and adding some of this.

On Rusney: the way the luxury tax stuff works, Rusney's salary doesn't count because he's off the 40-man roster. However, if they eat anything, that money goes back onto their luxury tax bill, and they seem determined to say under in 2017 to reset their penalties for future years.
Eno Sarris
12:55
yeesh. Maybe they can trade him without eating money for a middle reliever.

Lucroy.  Grrrrrr.  Improvement on the horizon or is this fella waiver wire chum, now?  Grandal & Ramos are still out there, somehow.  Make a move?
Eno Sarris
12:55
Grandal.

Re Chad Green. The Yankees bullpen has been putrid the past couple of weeks.

Zoomed in too far. Betances/Chapman and some of those arms should be a good pen.

Which 2 different beers would taste good if I tried to drink them at the same time?
Eno Sarris
12:56
Try any fruity sour and a stout.

you made a comment that the yanks need to win now - were you joking?  Seems like their window hasnt even opened yet given all the talent coming up and all the large contracts dropping off?
Eno Sarris
12:57
No not that they *need* to win now, sorry if I typed that. But they want to win now, so it's worth trying all their prospects out. Their window is open for me, Sanchez and Judge and Severino and Montgomery is their window. Call everyone up.

Do birds even have ankles?!
Big Joe Mufferaw

Is Judge going to slow down lol?
Eno Sarris
12:58
I think he'll be a true talent .260 BA guy, but power is real.

Anything if you're not close to a toilet.

Michael Morse's "Take On Me" for the Nats a few years ago got the crowd going so nuts that the Nats continued to use it as their 7th inning stretch song for years after he was gone!
Eno Sarris
12:59
Love that man.

You see Tanaka's velocity readings last night? Routinely hitting 95+ and even 90 with the splitter. Fast gun or a shift in pitching philosophy, since he usually held back except for pressure situations.
Eno Sarris
12:59
He's got to try something. Someone pointed out his statcast FIP, and while I'm intrigued by that research, what I've seen is that pitchers can still change who they are pretty quickly.

ENO! I'm moving to LA in a month... what's the first brewery I should go to out there?
Eno Sarris

Mumford is aight, but I hear Monkish is the thing. I love love El Segundo and Beachwood, but they out by the beach.
Kiermaier's Piercing Green Eyes

You said "[Cobb]'s splitter is back" but he threw a change for 3% of his pitches in his last outing? It was nowhere to be found!

Sure. Jose Ramirez is secretly great.

if you're cashman do you get aggressive and trade off top minor league talent to try and win this year or do you just chill and bring your young talent up over the next 2 years?
Eno Sarris
1:03
See what kind of starter you can get without spending Frazier or Torres. I don't even know if I focus too hard on first.

Hey eno! Favorite San Diego brewery we've never heard about.

Half Door, although last night I had a really nice beer from Resident.

That launch angle would be even higher for the Twins if they weren't actively trying to get Buxton to hit the ball on the ground. http://www.1500espn.com/twins-2/2017/06/notes-fenway-byron-buxton-new-...

that dude should not be hitting it on the ground.

Give me an ideal itinerary for a day in SF/Oakland (assuming a game at night).
Eno Sarris

Oakland: Fieldwork into Rare Barrel into the Trappist into food trucks at the stadium into your seat. San Francisco: Cellarmaker into City Beer Store, fried chicken at the donut place across from the park if you're skimping some, crab sandwich in center field otherwise, public house, game.
