Wilson Ramos has a 32 wRC+ and has been below replacement level. What's the problem?
Eno Sarris
12:22
Coming off knee surgery, was at his best in a year or two of peak performance so outsized expectations?

Hoskins expectations?

Two fly balls for every ground ball, I see a low BA and tons of power.

I love the dark overlord. I'm very loyal to the dark overlord. The dark overlord has the best graphs. The dark overlord is a passionate love maker. I love the dark overlord.

Who's the best CHC SP right now?

Kyle Hendricks, Michael Fulmer, Jason Vargas?

How do you see the Braves rotation shaping up heading into 2018? Will they finally add a TOR arm or just depend on kids, Soroka, Newk, Fried, Gohara in addition to Folty and Teheran
Eno Sarris
12:25
I could see them signing people in the Colon/Dickey mold again. Maybe one with a bit more upside, if they can't pull one of these trades they've been trying to pull.

Hi Eno, are there any studies showing that hitters struggle going from facing a low-velo to a high-velo pitcher in one game or vice-versa?  Dave mentioned he thinks Aroldis should start the WC game and I was wondering if you could order the pitchers by velo as well as handedness to mess with the other lineup

12:26
Barry Bonds just went off on this recently during a game. I'd like to study it. He said 'specialist' though, said it was hard to adjust after seeing a specialist. I was thinking of defining that sort of player as someone who threw 40%+ of a non fastball, or had a top 10% or bottom 10% arm angle, or was in the top 10% of velo.. then you have to look for the knuckleball type hangover.

What is your go to drink at a wedding with an open bar?
Eno Sarris
12:27
I like dark and stormies, vodka tonics, but these days I pretty much stick to the beer because I'm in charge of two little people.

The Angels are so strange. They have possibly the greatest player ever in center, and a now possibly elite short stop in his prime. The perfect core players to have but then almost nothing else and little in the farm system. Do you think those two will ever end up in the playoffs with the Angels?
Eno Sarris
12:28
Yes. I do actually. The wild card means they just need to get a little better and maybe get a little bit of Heaney/Richards luck next year.

How much of a risk is Rhys?
Eno Sarris

24 years old. Could come in at peak value.

Do you agree with Dave Cameron on the merits of Oakland's Mat Olsen and Matt Chapman?
Eno Sarris
12:30
All in on Chapman. I believe in the D and power, and that gives him a high ceiling. I need to watch more Olson. 40% strikeouts still too much today.

Do you think they should move in fences at AT&T?
Eno Sarris
12:31
Yes. Every extreme park has brought the fences in. It makes it hard to attract free agents and it kills development. Development is at least some part confidence, and imagine being a guy like Ryder Jones, come up with power, and see everything die on the track. That's why the Giants have found only contact position guys, the Mariners and Padres and Mets made their parks more neutral.

Is Brandon Drury any good?  Is he just the victim of too many MI in ARI?
Eno Sarris
12:33
dude is good, but I think the problem is less Descalso as lack of lefties in the lineup? Drury seems obviously better than DD.

There appears to be an extreme inbalance in the value of pitcher WAR vs. position player WAR in trades and other transactions.  Do you anticipate that continuing into the offseason?   Is it possible that teams are trying to trade for pitching and buy hitting, in order to avoid dead money on an injured pitcher contract?
Eno Sarris
12:35
I think it's also related to supply and demand with the new power levels. Seems pretty easy to find a hitter these days. And power suppression the hardest thing to guarantee on a pitcher, so you trade for a pitcher who's a) not injured and b) suppressing power currently.

Next year, at first/corner OF? He's not pushing Gallo Mazara Choo off right now. Maybe he pushes Napoli and Choo in September, Choo to DH?

Asdrubal Cabrera has a -10.7 BsR in only 87 games played. The worst BsR season of all time (Billy Butler, 2012) was -12.7 in 161 games.

Can Steven Brault find any success in the majors?
Eno Sarris
12:39
Bro? I don't even know. Has good run on his pitches, okay breaker, but that change is flatter than his sinker and doesn't have good velo gap.
PNW Raggae

Eno, ever stream KEXP Positive Vibrations? It's an awesome Seattle-based indie station but Sat am from 9-12 is reggae and it's the soundtrack of my weekend

Perfect timing, often in yard with boys then. I'll look for it. Even though it sounds like an adult toy store.

I don't understand "Vampire Tanaka".  Vampires do well at night, and hate the day.
Eno Sarris

Tanaka has been worse in the day his career and this year has been atrocious in the day.
