What chances would you say Otani coming to MLB this winter are? And what are the 3 most likely destinations?
Eno Sarris
12:22
What happens, as I've seen it with Japanese players, is that once the player makes up his mind, the teams usually acquiesce. Otani seems to have made up his mind despite the money. I'd put it at like 70% likely. And since money is not part of the equation, I think city and winning are going to be most important to him: LA, NY front runners.

Did you see Rich Hills at bat vs Verlander. If he could make contact a couple of times, im very convinced that you or Chris Hayes would have a few hits in 600 ABs
Eno Sarris
12:22
All he did was try to get that bat going as fast as he could. Did you see him run???

What do you make of the Dodgers allowing Bellinger to continually tweak his approach/swing during the WS as opposed to letting his regular season approach ride?
Eno Sarris
12:26
If they expose a weakness, you have to adjust, can't keep banging your head against the wall.

Does the champagne celebration look as manufactured and inauthentic in person as it does on camera?
Eno Sarris
12:27
There are DEFINITELY elements of, okay, here we go, batten down the hatches. Especially among the media, who are struggling to get quotes as the suds fly. BUT. Those guys were legit having fun. You should have seen Liriano. McCullers. Hugs in the hall, stogies, so many smiles. Musgrove. I mean, it's kind of fun to let normal societal rules about cleanliness go and just spray people with foam.

Some say Larry King is still sitting there, unmoving, waiting for a brighter tomorrow.

Behold, for I am the king of the TTO rookies!

I'm a nationals fan....the void is looking pretty good right now. Drink lots of beer, watch no baseball.

12:28
Hey that was a world series quality interlude.

Yankees have enough money/lux tax space to just resign Tanaka and CC and call it a winter, do they not?
Eno Sarris
12:28
Yeah but it's also the easiest place for them to improve. If they can get Otani, whoo boy.

Why does the analyst industry seem so have such massive trust in Hoskins when rookies constantly get exposed at some point after a year's playing time? We have seen Bellinger adjust before. We don't know that Hoskins will once he gets figured out.
Eno Sarris
12:30
Hoskins make so much contact. Bellinger can make more, I think. It's a good point and worth exploring. Let me do a quick search.
12:31
Okay I'm not seeing a lot of busts on this hot rookie list: https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y...
12:32
Austin Kearns, Lew Ford, Mike Aviles, Austin Jackson out of top 30.
12:33
That's three guys built on D, which you wouldn't trust in a rookie season unless your eyes told you it was legit, like it did with Jackson, but injuries a big story there. And Austin Kearns. Does that guy strike you as a Hoskins or Bellinger?
To some extent, you're talking about guys that have seasons that don't match their minor leagues. That's not really the case with Judge, Hoskins, Bellinger.

How many of you are taking a nice post-World Series vacation after this thriller of a series? That was exhausting!
Eno Sarris
12:33
I was really toast last night. I can't believe I'm doing more baseball this weekend.

12:34
How excited are you for the Rule 5 Draft now that the WS is over? Isn't that the best part of the offseason?!

Best local beers you had while in LA?

Highland Park 3 Homers hazy pale. So good.

so how does a queue the day after a world series compare to one in june, one in the postseason, and one in winter meetings
Eno Sarris
12:34
This is a little more robust than late season.

Any future offseason articles on grips?
Eno Sarris
12:35
Next season I'll do some more like that one I did for the Athletic on tucking the thumb: roundups about certain pitch types and differences in grip.

Does Lester rebound this year or is this the beginning of the end?
Eno Sarris
12:36
I'm a little bit more in the 'beginning of end' camp. He really depends on command bringing the most out of his stuff, I feel like there's going to be a tipping point there. It's not like he has a ton of pitches. Maybe he goes to the change more next year as a wrinkle.

Eno, since you, like me, love the Mets...how shocked were you that they chose Callaway?  I was sure they were going to go with a name like Chip Hale or Bob Geren, or at most someone like McEwing, a sacrifice bunt proponent and certainly not a new age guy like Callaway.
Eno Sarris
12:36
Gives me a bit of hope.
Alex
12:36
Darvish, Utley, Morrow, Watson, Granderson, Gutierrez are FA for the Dodgers. Likely that none of them are back?
Eno Sarris
12:36
There's the full list. I bet none come back. Maybe one of the relievers. But they rode Morrow so hard. Maybe they reward him for that.
Babe Lincoln
12:36
You comfortable with Nimmo/Lagares platoon in CF for Mets?  Should they upgrade?
Eno Sarris
12:37
They have guys for most positions, which is good. That means they can try to find the best deal and not be so obvious about their needs.
