They should but college coaches often make more money and have better job security than anyone in pro ball. Baseball really leverages your passion against you if you wanna work in the industry, which I imagine is true for film, fashion, music, etc.

It'll have some unintended consequences like anything else, but in general I think trying to find an alternative to the travel ball circuit is good. It's hard for economically disadvantaged kids to play baseball in the first place.
