Seems like Brent Rooker made an impression in pro ball. Any other non-1st round picks impress you/scouts post-draft?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:27
Lutz, Downs, Melendez
Juan
12:28
When does draft prospect talk usually start to ramp up? Wasn't it around this time last year when Greene first hit 102?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:29
This time last year Greene was a week away from throwing a bullpen session in Tempe. There are high school tournaments here in AZ this weekend and JUCO ball stats up in a couple of weeks. We're still over a month away from d1 baseball.

Is Oscar de la Cruz destined for the bullpen? The talent to be a high-end starter is still there, right?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:30
Needs to stay healthy, has the other ingredients to start

Lots of talk these days about brrls/bbe. Is that tracked in the minors? And is it a skill that repeats from year to year?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:31
Teams do measure rates of 'ideal contact' with MiLB trackman data, yes. More year-to-year volatility here because the players are developing.
Gregg
12:32
Could you go more in depth on your thoughts on Jake Peter?
Eric A Longenhagen
Made a swing change, sounds like the body has gotten better too. Stock is up, think he could play a bench role pretty quickly.

12:32
Is Greg Allen and Yu Chen Chang enough for Andrew McCutchen?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:33
Like both those guys but I'd want a little bit more.

12:33
Was I the AFL MVP?

12:33
You weren't in Fall League, consult a doctor.

A few people have argued that it makes more sense to move a prospect off of SS as soon as possible if you think he won't stick there (Carter Kieboom specifically). But it they aren't blocking anyone and aren't blocked does'nt it make way more sense to keep them their as long as possible? Either A) they become an average defensive shortstop and they're considerably more valuable, or B) they move to 2B or 3B with relative ease and suffer very little developmently. Does that seem right?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:34
I agree
Do you Amed or Not?
12:34
If you had to sum up to just "Yes" or "No" - are you a believer?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:34
Yes

Shane Bieber was great through 3 levels of Minors last year. Does he have the potential to make the rotation some point this season?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:36
That might be tough. Not on the 40-man yet and Cleveland has a lot of arms like him that are so it's not as if he offers something special they don't already have ready to come up if the need arises. I do like Bieber, though.

I can’t seem to find an updated report on Julio Pablo Martinez. Do you still see him as a 4th outfielder?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:37
Reports from 2017 were more bullish about the power. Think he has a shot to be a starter.
Scuffy Mcgee
12:37
Do you see AJ Puk as a true top of the rotation guy
Eric A Longenhagen
12:37
I don't, more of a #3 for me, but that's still really good.

12:38
Which Mets prospect who had a down 2017 can I bank on for a strong bounceback season? Dunn? Lindsay? Nido?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:38
Dunn and Nido before Lindsay

12:39
If I've been offered a Minor League Video position for this upcoming season, do you have any suggestions on what I can do during the position to stand out and possibly turn it into a full-time gig? Thanks.
Eric A Longenhagen
12:40
Try to be innovative and refine the process that's already in place, even if you suggest something small that makes it a little more efficient or more informative. You probably won't have any idea how to do that until mid-season, but that's fine.

Do you like player comparisons? I know fans love them. Is Mike Cameron a good comp for Estevan Florial? (skill set, tools and body type are awfully similar)
Eric A Longenhagen
12:41
I don't like comps and would not Cameron:Florial

CD Pelham appears to be running through hitting the past three years. Project on him, any insight, eta?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:42
Pretty sure that's the name of an English soccer team
12:45
No, he's interesting. Big, 6-6 lefty with long arms. Good extension, cross-bodied delivery. At least has LOOGY components and change (split? might be a split) could be good enough for him to get righties out.

Any concerns about Bo Bichette of the Blue Jays organization in regards to the bat-wrap in his swing?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:46
Nah, he's talented enough to make it work

12:46
Who is the last good position player that the White Sox have developed through their system? Since I wouldn't call Tim Anderson a good MLB player yet, I would say Joe Crede or Aaron Rowand. Is it any wonder they haven't made the playoffs since 2008? Can we really trust this organization to develop the guys they have now?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:48
I don't know this off the top of my head (except that Chris Getz is still relatively new at his job) but how many player dev personnel have they gone through in the last ten years? Can we really make a blanket statement about them because guys like Michah Johnson and Matt Davidson didn't become anything? I just think their system was bad for a while, personally.

Who's your favorite prospect that spent most/all of 2017 injured to return and break out in 2018?
Eric A Longenhagen
