Jake Bauers or Cody Bellinger?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:21
Bellinger
Nick Allen
2:21
Is there something in my swing that makes you believe in my hitting?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:22
Yes. It's just slow enough that I can daydream about your defense before you make contact.
Billy
2:22
Did you ever think Cuthbert would put up these numbers?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:23
Was a volatile minor league performer and there were some effort questions because of it. Otherwise, yeah. This is about the line I thought was possible.
Billy
2:23
Haven't heard any buzz on Micker Adolfo in a while? Guy that has any chance?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:23
Approach hasn't come along at all. Has lost time due to injury and still has the body and physical tools worth monitoring, but until he starts showing improved pitch selection I'm well off of Micker.
Trea Turner
2:24
Can you explain my power surge?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:24
Nope. In fact, pre-draft, lots of people had no idea if you'd be able to hit at all with wood. Including me.

Aristides Aquino of the Red's minor league affiliate Daytona l had a strong second half of the season. Any idea if he has made adjustments to his approach at the plate that can be replicated moving forward? Thank you
Eric A Longenhagen
2:26
Did not hear of any mechanical adjustment. Think he just became more comfortable against the pitching at that level as the year went on. Some of that might be caused by the better arms getting promoted, though. He has plus power projection, definitely a solid prospect.

Eric, it seems like over the last few years some contact oriented hitters (murphy and betts come to mind) have started pulling the ball in the air for power. Are there any guys in the upper minors that have shown strong contact ability, which might translate into power?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:27
Carson and I actually talked about this on the podcast we recorded Friday which I'm guessing will be up in the next few days. I think hitters showing pull power are making an adjustment to do it and the question we should be asking is, "who is capable of making this adjustment?" and that's a much harder question to answer.

Do you think Oakland saw enough improvement for Franklin Barreto to stick at short in the longterm?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:28
Not sure Oakland requires their big league shortstops to be slick defenders. Too many middle infielders in that org break the traditional mold. I think they have a bat-first organizational philosophy about that position which I do not share.

One criticism I've seen of the Braves minor league pitchers is they have great depth but lack a future top of the rotation starter. Do you agree with this assessment? If not, or even if so, who do you see as the likeliest to hit that ceiling?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:30
I do not agree. Newcomb, Allard and Anderson are all potential #2/3 types of arms for me with varying degrees of risk. Touki, Fried and Wentz all right behind them. They're loaded with arms.

Thoughts on Tyler Beede? Do you think he could be in the Giants rotation sometime next year?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:30
Sounds like the velo is back, which I like, so yes I think there's a chance.
Juice
2:30
Were you able to get another look at Yohel Pozo, before the season ended? Any thoughts, if so?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:31
Yup. Solid approach and feel to hit, no projection, not sure of future position. A nice lower level bat to wait-and-see on but not much more than that at this point.

Josh Bell seems like an exceptional athlete for his build. Do you think he has the athleticism and ability to at least become someone who isn't a total liability at first?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:32
I thought so, but it's been a little while since he's begun playing 1B now and is still really bad there and I'm not sure it's going to come anymore.

Has a J2 ever made your top 100? Believe youv said Maitan has a shot this year.
Eric A Longenhagen
2:33
This will be my first year doing a top 100.
Joe
2:33
Bellinger a guy worth stashing in fantasy? Over say guys like Moniak, Kyle Lewis, Zack Collins, etc..?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:33
Would rather have Moniak and Lewis.
Dooduh
2:33
Where are you on Gavin Cecchini both offense and defense? What comps come to mind?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:34
Plus hit, very little power, just okay at SS. Utility type. I try to avoid comps unless I'm talking about the body or unless they're somehow funny.

2:34
what is the ratio of MLB : non-MLB that you watch?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:34
In person? I try to hit one MLB game a month versus like 20 minor league or amateur games per month.

I have seen people say that "a prospects ceiling can't change that quickly". A specific example of this would be with relation to Mark Appel. I'm of the opinion that it can indeed change and pretty quickly if people realize that the player they are currently seeing just doesn't have the same skill level as they had previously thought that player did.

What are your thoughts on this idea?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:36
I know people who would argue that every player's ceiling is the best player in baseball because of the unpredictable nature of human beings.

2:36
Any under-the-radar pirates prospects to keep an eye on?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:36
Is Taylor Hearn under the radar? Him.
Zonk
2:37
Ian Happ kinda slumped late in the year. Are you worried, or just a slump? What do you see him as at the ML level?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:37
Not worried, that dude is going to hit. Breath and relax when one of your team's prospects strgulles for a moth or two. This is a long process.

2:37
What Farm System, in your mind, had the worst season in terms of failed performances/injuries?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:37
Milwaukee's.
