Why is Ramon Laureano not getting any love after a great 2016?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:43
I like hhim and wrote about him a few times during the Fall League. Chance to be an everyday guy for me.
Eric Pardinho
1:43
Can you form a projection on me? Or am I too young?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:44
Not too young, your signing day is in less than six months. Good velo, strong body, good breaking ball feel, not much physical projection. A 40 FV for me which is likely to result in relatively high placement on a J2 list.

Are you coming to Vanderbilt this year? I'm a student there and would love to chat
Eric A Longenhagen
1:44
Vandy is coming to San Diego so hat's where I'm seeing their guys. If you get a regional, I'm there.

What kind of upside does Mike Soroka have? He had impressive results this year, though his strikeout rate fell as he moved up the ladder.
Eric A Longenhagen
1:45
He's a #3/4 for me.

1:45
How high is the risk on De Leon?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:45
Probably higher than is usual for an arm that's had that kind of success at Triple-A. Injuries, had weight issues in college.
And that fastball can be pretty flat. Some are worried he's going to be homer prone.

Hello Eric! Suppose you could go back in time and give any failed prospect an 80-grade tool. Who would you give to to, and what tool would it be?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:46
I'm trying to decide who would be the most broken pitching prospect if he was given 80 command. Phillippe Aumont?
1:47
80 hit Brandon Wood?
Philip
1:47
Which non top 10 padres prospect do you think can be a top 100 guy in a year? Mason Thompson?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:47
I think that's a solid guess.

1:47
Jahmai Jones. top 100 worthy?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:47
Toward the back, yes.

Which catching prospect's offensive ceiling do you like best among Mejia, Sisco, Collins, Alfaro? What about for offensive floor?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:48
Alfaro has the highest ceiling but I think it's more likely that Mejia is the best bat of that group.

You put a 70 on Margot's speed but he stole "only" 32 bases last year (74% success rate). Is that about how you expect someone with 70 grade speed to steal bases, or is there a disconnect between his speed and his ability to steal bases right now?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:49
Probably had fewer opportunities to run than you think. Had like 40 XBH and your're not running very often in the PCL when Hedges and Renfroe are hitting behind you the way they were last year.

Wow...that KATOH projection for Hader. Seems evaluators are polarized on his projection.
Eric A Longenhagen
1:50
It's amazing, right? Just another one of those things that, if you think he's a RP, makes you go back and look and see if you're missing something.

Do the KATOH projections in the Top 25s mean first 6 years in the big leagues, in pro baseball, or just the next 6 years?

If you were a mid-season trade partner with the Cubs, what players would you be targeting? What players are likely to sell for less because they are blocked or org surplus? (like Candy)
Eric A Longenhagen
1:51
If you like the guys that are blocked (Candy and Happ) then feel free to target those guys. Otherwise I'm chasing Albertos and de la Cruz.

Why should I get excited about Estevan Florial? Why should I not care?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:52
Twitchy LHB with natural loft, high finish, good bat speed. Yes, be excutted.
1:53
excited. Don't get executed.

Is it right to say that Jake Bauers doesn't seem to have any outstanding tool except controlling the strike zone? and what's the ceiling for someone with that toolset?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:53
Yeah, I'd agree with that.
Carlo
1:53
Curious about your thoughts about Max Schrock. Can he hit enough to be a regular?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:53
I'm skeptical. More of a 45 than a true 50 for me.
Dylan
1:53
MLB Pipeline just put a 70/75 on Matt Chapman's defense/arm. Combined with his excellent raw power, an I wrong to be super duper excited to see him play in Oakland in the next couple years?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:54
No, I think you're allowed to be excited about that guy.
Philip
1:54
Do you surf?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:54
Nope.

Would Luis Robert be a top 5 IFA in the 2016 period for you?
