Extremely excited to that the Cardinals are playing the Blue Jays for opening day. The development of this Blue Jays team of the past few years has been one of my favorite things to watch in baseball. I don't get to see them often so it's nice to get the opportunity to see the here
Leo Morgenstern
4:25
I'm very interested to see more Jack Suwinski in center field for Pittsburgh
Ben Clemens
4:26
You really do not want to have a 'let them put it in play' approach against the Jays, jeez
5 Run Homer
4:26
extremely Bo Bichette hit

Just looked up and saw that Cincinnati still has a ball club. Neat.

I'm excited for every O'Neill Cruz highlight, Jordan Hicks/Hunter Greene fastballs, and pitching ninja overlay gifs

Interleague play is great, I like getting to see every team. When I go to games I like to poke around and see what NL teams are coming. Opening day interleague is super cool.
Leo Morgenstern
4:27
I really like that every team is going to play every team this year. Although I think I'm in the minority there
Ben Clemens
4:27
100%. Also Blue Jays Cards is just a spectacular game.
Davy Andrews
4:27
Leo, did you hear what they just said in the Phillies game?
Leo Morgenstern
4:27
I didn't, what did I miss?
Davy Andrews
4:28
They're talking about Castellanos bouncing back and winning the MVP.
Leo Morgenstern
4:28
We can all dream on Opening Day! He's off to a good start
Davy Andrews
4:29
I mean, maybe it should just be the last guy to get an XBH off DeGrom is the current MVP.

okay so I know convos about the Diaz Kellenic trade is old hat and reliever WAR is a dumb way to evaluate things, but Cano and Diaz combined for about 6 war and paid 50MM for it. In terms of $/WAR, I really don't think it's impossible for Seattle to win it
Kyle Kishimoto
4:28
$/WAR doesn't mean all that mich when your owner isn't allergic to spending money, Kelenic could still be good but Díaz just had one of the best seasons for a reliever ever
Derek
4:28
Adley thrown out at second twice today
Davy Andrews
4:28
Yeah, but you should see the other guy.
Ben Clemens
4:30
They just mentioned on the Rangers broadcast that the team has now thrown more 100 mph pitches in 2023 than 2022
Davy Andrews
4:30
A true team accomplishment.
Kwanbelievable
4:30
Davy, you made me spit out my drink. That comment was out of pocket and I'm here for it

M.J. Melendez has made his first error in right field, which means the season is officially under way.
Davy Andrews
4:31
CJ Abrams has beaten you to the punch and then some.
Leo Morgenstern
4:31
If the last guy to get an XBH off DeGrom is the  MVP, it would've been Swanson last season. Not a terrible choice.
Leo Morgenstern
4:31
Jace Peterson the year before though
Oddball Herrera
4:31
Woah woah woah. A Castellanos xBH just happened. Don’t threaten me with a good time
J
4:31
I don’t think people give the Marlins enough credit for the Ozuna traded. Ozuna seems washed and they netted Chisholm (via Gallen) and Alcantara. For all their other mistakes they nailed that one.
Leo Morgenstern
4:32
Fair enough, but hard to give them too much credit when the philosophy behind it (selling all their great players) was so poor
Ben Clemens
4:32
Bohm bomb!
Davy Andrews
4:32
Alec Bohm, NL MVP.
Leo Morgenstern
4:32
More or less likely than Castellanos?

one of my personal favorite things about Baseball is how the local broadcasting teams are just deeply ingrained into the team they broadcast. Especially the ones who are deeply root-for-the-home-team. Who are you favorite homer broadcasters? White sox team has to be up there right?
Davy Andrews
4:33
I wrote about this at BP a while back, but I can't find it to link it. The Mets team is truly excellent.
Ben Clemens
4:33
White Sox, Mets, and Giants are my favorite homer-ish teams
Prototypical TBS Kid
4:33
The real question.  Will the rangers score more runs per game for Degrom than the mets did
Blake Seams
4:33
Have we called a winner the Chisholm/Gallen trade yet? Seems like usually this far on we have more resolution...
Kyle Kishimoto
4:34
Give it more time, but I'm sure both teams would say the guy they have fits a better positional need on their current roster
Leo Morgenstern
4:34
It's nice when trades don't have to have a winner!
Dan
4:33
How cool must it be to not only hit a HR, but to hit a HR off Jacob deGrom

So Royals basicly played 2 OF with RF playing deep second against Gallo (who hit  a grounder right to the RF.) But the shift is "banned" face_with_rolling_eyes
