alright, one last call for nicknames during the commercial break and then I'll hand somebody a code
muxosk
7:31
This nickname thing is tough, best I've got is "blech, snail" which is too mean to a great hurler imo
Welland Jackfish
7:32
having performed in R+J in college (as the prince of verona, basically narrator), I am happy to concede nicknames to Romy Oh and Juliet. That's great
Finnegan's SSW

Myles Straw: The Scarecrow (a straw man)
Ben Clemens
7:33
ooh, another good one
and coming from "Finnegan's seam-shifted wake" no less

I'm sorry I missed the leg kick question! My wife just got home and we are heating up dinner. Crochet's leg kick is absolutely way up there.
7:34
I remember when the Red Sox got him there were very few pictures of him in the photo service that all the baseball sites use, so you'd just see this one picture with his knee right up by his face in every single article.
It was a delight.

Crochet: Big Leg Kick
Ben Clemens
7:35
alright, winner is Romy "Oh, and Juliet" Gonzalez, in a landslide as it turns out
(one brief break to answer a real question)
Dmytro

What is generally more important for platoon splits, the hitter’s or pitcher’s? Or it depends?
Ben Clemens
7:36
Pitcher's
almost exclusively
muxosk
7:38
Top of zone curves seem brutal to call correctly
Ben Clemens
7:39
Yeah, agreed
I think that's gonna be a hard thing to get used to in the automatic zone
Raph Fangs
7:42
Big for the Sox if they can get into the Yanks bullpen in the 6th
Ben Clemens
7:42
Hey guys, had to step off for a second but I'm back while Davy steps off
teamwork makes the dreamwork
maybe the bullpens are the way to make these games high scoring
Welland Jackfish

Has anyone assigned Lou Merloni's partner Will Flemming to a national game yet? His brother Dave is great and last year they called innings together when the Giants played the Red Sox
Ben Clemens
7:42
Not that I've seen, but the Flemming brother broadcasts are always great
7:43
they soudn so similar!
Nick Perry
7:43
top and bottom of the zone so much harder to adjust to with coming ABS/challenge and the east/west edges
Ben Clemens
7:43
yeah, absolutely. The hardest things to adjust to, in my opinion, are gonna be the top edges, and the different lefty/righty zones
MattStats5
7:43
Love a good pitching duel, but Red Sox left some juice on the squeeze so far.
Ben Clemens
7:43
Quite a bit. Honestly, I think that's been a lot of the story of the day
the pitching is really good, as it should be with all these aces going, but the hitters are leaving a bit of meat on the bone
MattStats5
7:45
Yep, meat on the bone, juice on the squeeze....just words.  But all true.
Ben Clemens
7:45
delicious words

I feel like a reds sweep would be the funniest thing ever, can we please manifest it
Ben Clemens
7:45
I wrote my preview as a 'how the reds can upset the dodgers' because neutral fans are all kinda hoping for it
