Masa showing up like April 2019 Eric Sogard
Davy Andrews
8:05
This made me laugh.

If only someone had told me that the Yankees weak point is their bullpen
The M’s only win when I’m abroad

Checking back in to see Yankees fans lose their mind how Aaron Boone is the devil

So then the question is, do you take out Crochet if you're Boston?
Guest

Is there some rhyme or reason in getting comments past the moderation? I didn’t say anything offensive, I promise!
Ben Clemens
8:07
Everything goes to mod so that Davy and I can click on questions to answer them
but sometimes we just get caught in the crush
Davy Andrews
8:07
Yeah, we are to blame here.
Davy Andrews

As someone who read chats religiously for many years, I tend toward trying to publish anything that's not offensive, but you also try to keep themes and conversations going, not to publish too many things by any one person. Just logical stuff to try to make the chat engaging.

Imo the red sox and yankees should battle hard for a three game series and both use all of their best relievers. Hopefully lots of extra innings.
Ben Clemens

an unbiased, neutral take

Hey you all were right that the Sox needed to get to the Yankees bullpen! Great game by fried though.
Ben Clemens
8:09
Poor Fried, I'm picturing him hitting the dugout to quickly change his shirt and coming back like DOnald Glover in Community
drplantwrench
8:09
personally i think both the yankees and red sox should forfeit
Ben Clemens
8:09
another unbiased, neutral take

Yankees bullpen cursed
Guest
8:09
The Yankees going all-in at the deadline to shore up an already-good bullpen only to have the bullpen turn into a dumpster fire is one of my favorite, funniest storylines of the season

Cruz going to shut this down. Source: I can’t hit off him in MLB the show

I'm an Orioles fan, so I'm totally unbiased and neutral.  These first three games have been fire.

Has anyone asked Davy about his performance in the EW bold predictions game? Maybe he shows up as a guest predicter next year?
Davy Andrews
8:11
You are the first person to ask, but I am very proud. I have no idea whether other FG writers participated, but I'm going to tell myself that they did because it makes me feel good.
Ben Clemens
8:11
ooh how'd you do Davy?
Davy Andrews
8:11
I am currently in seventh!
Ben Clemens
8:11
I think I didn't do ALL that well on mine this year, but both "White Sox to lead ALC for a day" and "bears/cubs" were really fun for me
Davy Andrews
8:12
I think I gave the Sox one 0%.
Ben Clemens
8:12
Davy it was SO close
Welland Jackfish
8:12
what's bears/cubs?
Ben Clemens
8:12
I predicted that the Cubs would double up on the Bears in September (runs vs. points)
I was like, super wrong
but it was fun to follow
great catch
Bencle Mens
8:12
Actually, thinking about it, I think it is: New York City bullpens cursed
Guest
8:13
I mean, the bullpen imploding literally immediately after the starter leaves almost seems scripted for narrative writing. Like, it's almost comical

You’re offered $10 million to take a walk, steal a base, or get a hit in an MLB game over the course of a month. The manager is in on it and wants you to get the money but no one else knows. Which option do you choose?
Davy Andrews
8:13
The walk, 100%.
Ben Clemens
8:13
ooh. I might be on steal a base
I think I'd look so uncomfortable in the box that thye'd just pour it in
Davy Andrews
8:14
Sure, but it depends a lot who "they" is.
Ben Clemens
8:14
hm..... well.... can I pinch run?
