Word. Where are you Sad Trombone?
Bosoxforlife

There aren't many prettier things in this situation than a 6 pitch inning.
Ben Clemens
8:22
depending on who you're rooting for, haha

These fast innings from crochet are huge for my chances of getting a curry cooked up before too much happens in the reds/dodgers game.
Davy Andrews
8:22
What kind of curry?
8:23
Ben, we haven't talked about food at all, which seems like an oversight.
What are people making for dinner?

That Crochet-Cora interaction really didn't look like he was coming out

Eno used to do chats this long on random Thursdays, those were the days

Playoff baseball and leftover pizza. I'd feel like a kid again if I didn't have a couple hours of work left to do tonight
Davy Andrews
8:23
You are so close to living the dream.
Ben Clemens
8:23
Davy, we have not talked about food, but tonight I'm going to a sports bar, so probably like chicken wings? maybe a nice caesar
Guest
8:24
Made chicken birirra earlier! Family approved
Davy Andrews
8:24
Yeah, way to go. Got a recipe you can pass along?
Ben Clemens
8:24
wow, that is impressive

Every Yankee reliever so far has walked a batter.
The M’s only win when I’m abroad
8:24
Any Yanks fans care to entertain me by losing your mind over Devin Williams?
Davy Andrews
8:24
A very reasonable request.

Red Sox pinch hitting 3x vs Yankees not at all could be the difference here
Ben Clemens
8:25
hey, the platooning worked!
Davy Andrews
8:25
Story of the game!

8:25
red lentils and whatever I spices i happen to grab out of the drawer. I have no recipes and even fewer commitments to culturally authentic cuisine.
Davy Andrews
8:26
Ok, we got a couple takers:
Sonny
8:26
2025 Devin Williams has that (all of the years) Jordan Hicks thing where on TV it looks impossible and yet batters are telling you it’s quite possible to hit them
RTJ
8:26
i know managers "don't matter" but sure seems like aaron bone is getting out managered
Davy Andrews
8:27
Look at that Caballero defense!
Ben Clemens
8:27
He's been really good out there today! Not great at hitting, lol
Ben Clemens
8:27
haha all of the years Jordan Hicks thing

You guys are really going for it.
Bencle Mens

Yankees' fans, don't worry, the main guy you gave up for Devin Williams only had 2.6 WAR at a position you had a hard time filling consistently this year.
Ben Clemens
8:27
arguably not even the main guy, though Nestor was bad
Guest
8:27
that was certainly a route
Davy Andrews
8:28
I think that was the wind. He sprinted to the spot then looked back up for the ball and adjusted. Really hard to do.
Mook
8:28
Devin Williams is Paul Sewald with better branding
Joe
8:28
I think pop ups seem hard to catch
Ben Clemens
8:29
in an extreme 'you'll write about everything if you write long enough' moment, I looked it up and major league fielders are WAY better than minor league fielders at catching pop ups with the same LA/EV characteristics. Or, in other words, it's hard!
Davy Andrews
8:29
Ohhhhh, that rules. I wonder whether better lighting and stuff factors into it.

Birirra was super easy…. for some reason not letting me link but it’s the NYT recipe that takes less than an hour

Did that fan reaction shot include a Red Sox fan flipping the camera off while her relative tried to obscure her face?
