Depends whta lead is, if any

Feels lucky that both players escaped without an injury in that weird play at 1B...

if this inning ends with tigers up 5-1 or something, he goes fairly quickly i think

Small-ball Tigers. Giving the Guardians a taste of their own medicine.
AvatarDan Szymborski

If Skubal goes like 110 or so, I think the Tigers try and get him five days rest and not four
2:54
four days rest would allow Skubal to get game 1

cue small ball/bunts are how you win narratives

Does the ballpark a game is played in impact how enjoyable the game is to watch for everybody? I like the fact we have games at Wrigley field, Yankee Stadium and Dodger Stadium coming up. (I’m from Toronto, so I have an aversion to boring cookie cutter fields)…

I think it's REALLY person specific
on TV it doesn't really make a difference to me

I know sac bunts are out of favor.  But Skubal on the mound, and this CLE offense makes that feel like a much better play than normal
AvatarDavid Laurila

The Tigers had five sacrifice bunts during the regular season.

I love squeeze play and wonder why more teams don't try it, especially in the extra inning game with so many strikeouts with a man on 3rd.
AvatarDan Szymborski
2:56
I think a lot is opportunity cost
it's a hard play to pull off and if you're working on that, what else could you have been working on instead?
Oddball Herrera

Statcast in game odds seemed to think that the one run for one out trade there was pretty neutral
AvatarDan Szymborski
2:57
always remember though, that it really changes depending on WHO is doing the bunt/squeeze
It doesn't take a lot of bunt hits to make the payoff really good
or a lot of bunt failures to make the payoff horrible

McKinstry is such a 'wins playoff game with squeeze bunt' type player

Gotta imagine having Skub makes you feel better about trading one sure run for a chance at 2

Wondering if Skubal is emptying the tank here.

Jeez, Skubal -- 101 in the 7th

Ai but I still like it:

Grady Little comes to mind. Kevin Cash comes to mind.

Howdy everyone! Sporer should be joining in a few mins here but we've got simultaneous chaos — Paul and I will be tuned into Padres/Cubs!

This is baseball as I remember it very fondly. Sandy Skubal mowing down the opposition late into the game, Come on A.J., leave him in.

Is it Vest or Finnegan for the 9th?
AvatarDavid Laurila
3:08
Presumably Vest. Whether or not the Tigers still have a lead is another question.

Hey Jon!

There's no chaos quite like simultaneous chaos!

Was hoping Tigers/Guards would be a little bit of a blowout by now but nope I have to have one eye on that game too

Dinner at 230? My cats would wake me up way too early for breakfast if I fed them before 7

They get wet food at 2:30 or 3, some dry food at 8 PM and 10 AM
