I think May is the best MLB option. Isn't Reed ready yet (or did I miss him getting hurt or sucking)?
9:52
Looks like Reed can't find the plate any more
Pesky's pole (size doesnt matter

So now Rusney heads to Pawtucket and starts hitting and running like he was supposed to have done with the Red Sox. I'm thinking with just Brock Holt to beat out of a job he should still get a chance to prove he belongs in the bigs?
Paul Swydan
9:52
Yes, mostly since he hasn't had a real chance yet to begin with.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:53
I think Castillo is just not a good player and with be a nice 4th outfielder
Paul Swydan
9:54
I dunno, I think his defense is good enough for him to be a 2 WAR player, which is what the Sox will get from Holt/Young if they're lucky. I think Farrell just doesn't like him.

Favorite ballplayer in the 60s? 70s? or 80s?
Jeff Zimmerman
9:55
Bob Gibson,George Brett, George Brett
Paul Swydan
9:56
Well, I wasn't alive in the 60s and barely in the 70s. For the 80s, it was Clemens, Boggs or Mike Greenwell, with Ellis Burks getting some down ballot votes, because my dad would always yell "ELLIS BABY!" whenever Ellis Burks did something good, and I liked it when he yelled that.
I suppose for the 60s I'd say Yaz, and the 70s I'd say Fred Lynn or Dwight Evans.

If it's wise to zig when everyone else zags, should we be buying Trevor Story?
Paul Swydan
9:57
I think there are still plenty of people buying Trevor Story. The bottom line is that he's going to start all season at shortstop for the Rockies, and he has enough power to be a valuable fantasy play just for those two reasons alone. If he does anything else, bonus!
Jeff Zimmerman
9:58
I would wait a bit as his value drops. He has a near 50% K% over his last seven games before tonight. I was really high on Story coming into the season.
Paul Swydan
9:59
I wasn't.
Ryan
9:59
Phillies or Reds as a more likely contender in 2018?
Paul Swydan
9:59
Oh definitely the Phillies.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:59
Phillies, more money to fill in FA talent. And the Phillies have a few hitters in their system

have Kang coming off the dl soon, should I slot him in at SS (others are Desmond and Semien) or put him at 3b (streaming Lamb/Shaw/Villar types) Thx!
Paul Swydan
10:00
Seems like your best play is Lamb and Shaw at third and Kang at shortstop, with Semien backing him up.
Jeff Zimmerman
10:00
Trade him or Semien for a real 3B

Paul, today is the 22nd anniversary of Nas releasing Illmatic. That you didn't link to a track off of arguably the GOAT is concerning to me. Are you feeling well?
Paul Swydan
10:02
I'm fine. I'll say two things. 1) The 22nd anniversary doesn't strike me as special. 2) My son's first T-ball practice was tonight, so I had less time for internet cruising. 3) The Celtics playoff game was also on.
I guess that was 3 things.
The good news is that I never sleep, 'cause sleep is the cousin of death.
Jeff Zimmerman
10:02
Do the Celtics count?
Paul Swydan
10:03
They sure as hell count more than Kansas City's pro basketball team, OH WAIT THEY DON'T HAVE ONE
Tom
10:04
Worth holding on to Giles in a 14 team league?
Paul Swydan
10:04
Yes, still hold.
Jeff Zimmerman
10:04
Yes

10:04
Thoughts on Miguel Castro? Will he be Col closer by end of year?
Paul Swydan
10:05
I like Castro, but I doubt they will put him in as the closer, if for no other reason than they traded a good player for McGee.
Jeff Zimmerman
10:05
Or McGee gets traded
Paul Swydan
10:05
Yes, that could happen too.
10:06
What's going to happen now though is us signing off for the night. Thanks for hanging out tonight, there was a ton of people in the chat tonight, so I apologize if we didn't get to your question. see you next week!
Jeff Zimmerman
10:06
Bye everyone. Hopefully see you next week
