It seems like it’d be true, and maybe it’s just missing spots when I’ve seen otherwise, but do teams encourage pitchers and catchers to pitch to the shift? Or are they relying more on batter tendency and telling pitchers/catchers to pitch how they otherwise would to that batter/stick to pitcher strengths?
