He might have tried to do too much to combat the shift plus he's been hurt and is a year older. Since he came back from the DL, he's hitting a 115 wRC+ so it isn't like he's been bad of late.

Very much hindsight, but Strasburg should've started this game, right?

Like Craig said, Washington's only scored one run. I don't think messing with the order of your pitchers matters all that much if that's all your offense is getting.
Craig Edwards

He definitely pitched better than Scherzer, though we don't know that Strasburg wouldn't have done the same thing and we'd all be praising Scherzer's bullpen performance. Also, the Nationals have to score more than one run for it to make a real difference.

Is Jose Ramirez 100% back to mid 2018 form?
Craig Edwards
10:34
He sure seemed to be.

Scherzer starting was the right move at the time imho.

Tony was the only one of us three to pick the Brewers.

The interesting thing about the Brewers, to me, is what they do on days when these four guys aren't available. They're reasonably deep, and Gio's been excellent at times, but I don't think there's much doubt that these are their top four guys. If they can use three of these four again for Game 1, does Woodruff/Anderson/Guerra/Peralta get you through Game 2?

why is Hader's fastball so hard to hit? He's only in the 19th percentile in spin and it's not like he throws 100
