It doesn't hurt to stash a guy. I'm not particularly optimistic, but that hasn't stopped me from rostering him. Again, I'm in deep formats where I'm excited to get Erick Fedde.

who are players to look at then? lol
Brad Johnson
12:21
Yea, I never did finish answering that question, huh?
12:22
Diego Castillo came up earlier and is plenty interesting. But I'd mostly be looking for the guys who get cut. Those are your prime buying opportunities. In NFBC, the most dropped player was Jo Adell. The most added was Kwan. That's completely backwards. I'd trade Kwan for Adell anywhere possible.

Is moustakas washed up?
Brad Johnson
12:24
Speaking of dropped guys, I set Moustakas loose this morning in a 15-teamer for... Tyler Anderson. We have unusual rules (IP instead of W/QS with a GS cap) where bulk relievers are very valuable. And I also have a surplus of CI. I'm not 100% out on Moose, but he's not someone to cling to.

Would you take Vaughn over Julio Rodriguez right now? or is too early ?
Brad Johnson
12:25
I would not take Vaughn over JRod, though I do like Vaughn. Very encouraging contact profile last season.

Are you expecting the giants to go into a closer committee which doval blowing his first chance on Friday?
Brad Johnson
12:25
Well, McGee was already the first chair so, yes, I think committee is always going to be the name of the game with Gabe Kapler.

Are saves really worth spending a small fortune for? Closers are always so volitale
Brad Johnson
12:26
I try to mix it up.
12:27
This year, I focused for 10/10 guys (Ws and SVs) like Andrew Kittredge, Dinelson Lamet, Paul Sewald, and Seranthony Dominguez.
Get one real closer and a couple of them, you'll win wins and do fine in saves

Bohm or Stott for 2022? For dynasty?
Brad Johnson
12:28
Stott for both as of today. This is one that could slide around quite a bit over the years.
Or days even. If Bohm and the Phillies ever accept that he's D.J. LeMahieu, he could take off.
He's terrible against fastballs all of a sudden because he's fighting himself. At least, that's what I think.

Hey Brad.  I've got a gross 2B situation.  I have Marte in the OF - he'll qualify to move to 2B in 11 more games - but until then I'm rocking a Toro/Cano combo.  Would you grab Solak/Hampson/Miller/Arraez/Kemp over either of my incumbents?  8x8 that uses doubles+triples, BB's and TB.  Thanks!
Brad Johnson
12:30
That's a tough group. It's so many guys who don't really play much. Miller would be my first choice of all the names listed here. And I'd want Solak most if he were playing daily. I think the Rangers overdid it by pushing him out of regular reps.
He'll be profitable later in the season once injuries open an opportunity.

Where do you play baseball nowadays?  League play?
Brad Johnson
12:31
Men's league in the ATL area.
B Gardner
12:31
Is Rizzo a top 5 First base pick ?
Brad Johnson
12:31
Anthony Rizzo? No. Not remotely.
12:32
He's in the 15-20 range at 1B. Jumps a few spots in OBP.

12:32
Should owners bid on me for this year?
Brad Johnson
12:32
$1 for now.
Historically, players who sign after the start of the season are more likely to struggle.

Do you think adley rutschman will dh on non catching days ?
Brad Johnson
12:33
I don't. They're not going to find a spot for both Mancini and Mountcastle very often.
So that leaves Adley DHing when one of them is resting.

12:34
My strategy right now is to load up on relievers in the first half, and to start only the top line SPs.  Too many SPs are going 3 or 4 innings and don't have any chance at getting the win right now, which feels like a waste of those innings.  Does that strategy make any sense?
Brad Johnson
12:34
If you have a GS cap, it does make sense. But you'll need your league to cooperate and hand you good SP later because the pitcher-quality just get worse and worse as the season goes and guys hit the IL.
12:35
While average pitcher quality declines, we do get a LOT better at projecting individual starts after April. So streaming is harder in one way and easier in another.

Will Gore be starting for SD sometime soon?
Brad Johnson
12:36
Seems like he's the expected call to replace Snell.
M Miller
12:36
Is Kyle Lewis a worthwhile DL stash?
Brad Johnson
12:36
I think so, with the caveat that a path to playing time is somewhat convoluted.
12:37
Presently, the OF/DH is JRod, Kelenic, Haniger, and Winker. He could shove aside a rookie, obviously, but the M's would surely prefer Lewis gets stranded on rehab assignment instead.
