I think you're thinking of someone else. Perez is a 19-year-old pitcher. Unless you're making a joke about this guy - https://www.fangraphs.com/players/eury-perez/10299/stats?position=OF
Mike
1:03
Your take on Eloy next season?
Brad Johnson
1:03
Pretty exciting so long as the Sox recognize he's a DH only.
Zach Gelof
1:03
Thoughts on a comp for Gelof? Looks like he'll have plenty of rope in Oakland, probably as early as next season.
Brad Johnson
1:04
I have a couple dynasty shares, but I don't have a good read on a comp yet. Vaguely like Chris Taylor with less defensive versatility.
1:05
Kinda battled injuries this year. Was talking about him with a contact a couple days ago. He said to give him a mulligan.
Heriberto Hernandez
1:05
Is he anything special? Or just org depth with modest upside?
Brad Johnson
1:06
There's an awful lot of swing and miss in his game for a 22-year-old at High-A. I think the Rays might have whiffed on this trade. They'll figure out a role for him though.
Sewald vs S Barlow
1:07
Which closer has more value in a dynasty?
Brad Johnson
1:08
I think it's pretty close to a push. There are some risks with Sewald's gimmicky delivery, but he's also a better pitcher than Barlow. It balances out.
not Jack
1:08
Pratto or Tork a tougher question, or is it just Tork?
Brad Johnson
1:09
Yes, that's a tough question for me. I do think it's Tork, but it's nearly a push.
Both guys are almost there right now, they just need to make a couple modest improvements or one big one in some aspect of their approach.
Pressure Drop
1:10
Hi Brad, in 15-team dynasty 5x5,  would you drop Kim, Casas or Toglia? Thanks again.
Brad Johnson
1:11
Well, for this year, my drop would be Toglia. Kim's a first-division backup imo so he's the easy cut long-term
Mike
1:11
should I pick up JD Martinez or Rhys Hoskins? 12 team dynasty league. I would have to drop a top 50 SP prospect or two in AA
Brad Johnson
1:11
I'd go for Rhys. Would depend on the prospect before I decided on JDM.
1:12
Most guys in the 35-50 range aren't going to do a whole lot for the remainder of Hoskins' prime. Then you can just pick up a good prospect when you dump him.
Hoskins also goes on mega hot streaks so you can always try to pick a moment to sell high.
Jake
1:12
Do you see the orioles callling up westburg to start him playing with Henderson?
Brad Johnson
1:14
Not really. I don't view him as much of an upgrade at this exact moment, and they don't need to put him on the 40-man this winter. Probably a better decision roster-wise to leave him down.
They're pretty close to falling out of the playoff picture.
RG
1:14
No questions, just gratitude for your work!
Brad Johnson
1:14
Thanks! Good time to mention I'm closing up shop for the day soon. Last call.
Eury Perez Error
1:14
Was thinking of Esteuery Ruiz. E-name. 6 week old baby over here -- low brain function. Sorry! Same question re: Ruiz -- 4th OF vs Juan Pierre type.
Brad Johnson
1:15
4th OF is probably more or less correct. The Brewers are the NL Rays though so look for them to try to figure out a role.
They're going to have a flood of OFers to juggle
1:16
Frelick, Mitchell, and Ruiz will have to fight for reps
Chourio's going to sprint through that system
KC Guy
1:16
What is your take on Michael Massey?  A long-term piece in KC?
Brad Johnson
1:17
I offered some Massey notes earlier. Yes, he's a solid long-term piece. Far from can't-miss.
keep 4 for next year
1:17
nl only  260 budget,..  carroll 2 , harris 2 , acuna 41 , tatis 26, degrom 15, chisolm 20
Brad Johnson
1:17
Carroll, Harris, Tatis, deGrom (assuming health)
1:18
You can probably get Acuna back for $45 or less. $40 players are usually pretty rare in Only.
Chisholm might prove challenging.
Mike
1:18
Is Jon Gray a keeper in a 12 team dynasty league?
Brad Johnson
1:18
Without knowing a lot more about your league and opportunity costs, that's a big ol meh
He's fine for 12-team.
Rick
1:18
Do you think Peraza will be the Yankees starting shortstop in 2023 and/or until Volpe takes over and if so, what kind of numbers can he realistically put up?
Brad Johnson
1:19
It'll be a spring battle imo
