From there, I often use Rotowire (toggle the "tomorrow" button near the top left) https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/daily-lineups.php?date=tomorrow

Once you pick out a name, try doing some basic google research to see if you can confirm that player will pitch. Twitter's also a good place to search (look for beat writers from the relevant team).

Sites like MLB and ESPN tend to be especially inaccurate in my experience so I don't bother with them.

I'll keep the line open for a little longer and check back.

Truly enjoyed the advice you have provided throughout the season and have put some of that into practice.  So thank you!!!  I have not fully explored all of the different league options and it seems overwhelming at times.  Any chance you can do a piece in the off-season on the different types of leagues and the ones you prefer?

I'll try to remember that for the first post back in January. Or maybe I'll even do it today.

I still have no idea what I'm going to write for the final fantasy article of the season. Something retrospective, probably?

Some short answers now: By personal preference, I HATE weekly FAAB. Daily FAAB's great. Weekly is just making a bunch of unnecessary work. Relatedly, I've drawn a lot of flak over the years for criticizing the NFBC's scoring and roster move choices.
That's all personal preference though.

I've grown to really prefer 5x5 roto with AVG. The reason is that it maximizes managerial sway on the outcome. I can (and have) beat objectively better teams with judicious use of the waiver wire and sharper category management.

On the other end of the spectrum, if you want the team with the best players to win, Linear Weights-based points scoring is the way to go.
1:55
Those are fun to try, though, if you're like me, you'll lose interest after five or so years. It's a good time for a while as you develop tools and strategies.

It's always nice to keep a H2H league on your ledger - it's just a very different game. And mastering H2H is a great way to improve your roto play along the margins.

Do you prefer playing one type of format (H2H, Roto, Points, Dynasty in some combination with the previous 3)?  Or do you try to mix it up?  I'm in 9 different leagues and prefer to play a variety of formats.  All of my leagues have something different.

I agree, different is best. I've been working hard to whittle down the number of leagues I play. One of the criteria I used was to keep my favorite of each type. So I have Tout Draft and Hold, a pretty standard 20-team roto dynasty, a 24-team "roto-to-head" dynasty, another 20-team dynasty where players can only be rostered the year AFTER they debut, a 15-teamer with a deep minors roster, an Ottoneu H2H league (2 matchups per week), and a few odds and ends.
I need to pare it back a bit more, but I'm having trouble deciding on how.

"Roto-to-Head" is what I call roto leagues with a H2H playoff system. They're somewhat complicated to run. Use FanTrax. https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/highly-custom-league-of-the-week-roto-to...

Well, that's probably a good place to stop. It's been a great season. Hope to see you for more chats in the new year!
