Have the first nomination in an auction league. What would be your strategy? Nominate a guy you want and hope room is still cold, or nominate someone you don't want to get money off table?
Brad Johnson
1:35
Yes, go for a premium guy you want. It'll still cost a lot, but 9 times out of 10, you'll watch slightly worse guys go for $5+ more over the next 10 minutes.
J Walker for H Greene
1:35
Fair one for one?
Brad Johnson
1:36
I'm not big on Hunter Greene. Really cool irl talent who I expect to be frustrating in fantasy. Low win totals, high volatility in ERA/WHIP.

Wondering if I can deal Yandy Diaz for some SB (a category I under-drafted). Any particular base-stealers you think would be good/reasonable to target?
Brad Johnson
1:36
Garrett Mitchell has come up a lot today

I am high on Nootbaar, but will be get enough PA to be worth more than a couple bucks now that the Cards selected Walker?
Brad Johnson
1:37
I've heard Walker and Nootbaar are going to play regularly. The rest will be shared. My guess is Carlson draws the short straw in terms of losing starts. And Burleson, but he never really had a claim in the first place.

Is Nick Lodolo a breakout candidate? Should I sell high in a keeper league?
Brad Johnson
1:38
Definitely. He's more talented than Greene in terms of pitchability. Greene's more of a hard-thrower with some weird stuff characteristics that cause the triple-digits heat to play down. Lodolo has a cleaner path to acedom imo. Both could get there - via different paths.

Any word on if brice turang makes the team and if he gets regular abs,?
Brad Johnson
1:39
I saw it going around twitter that he made the team right before I hopped on the chat. Not certain that's confirmed.
1:40
I saw Frelick optioned, Turang to be selected, Wiemer still under consideration for last spot.
Realized I could take 20 seconds to just look

Over/Under:

Jose Siri - 20 SB
Kyle Stowers - 20 HR
Wil Myers - .265 AVG
DJ LeMahieu - .280 AVG
Jimmy Herget - 20 SV
Brusdar Graterol - 20 SV

Over on DJLM, under on the rest
Dynasty Guy
1:41
I'm in a 5 X 5 category dynasty league.   Would you pick Jackson Chourio or Jasson Dominguez if you had a choice?
Brad Johnson
1:41
Chourio is maybe a hair closer and many hairs more hyped
1:42
I haven't actually done a lot of scouting on Chourio yet, I'm just believing my contacts that he's amazing. I haven't seen this degree of hype since Trout.

What are your general thoughts on these guys in a 14-team dynasty league: Santander, Nootbaar, Yandy Diaz, Jeff McNeil, and Arraez?
Brad Johnson
1:43
I think of those, Nootbaar is a long term asset and the rest of them are year-to-year guys who will suddenly evaporate sooner or later.

What can I expect from Volpe in H2H (10) league?
Brad Johnson
1:43
"Expect"
I chuckled.
I'm hoping for 30/30 personally
1:44
But that's hope, I don't think we can really form an expectation because the range of plausible outcomes is too wide
Anything from 50 miserable PA to 600+ superstar PA. Something like Bobby Witt's rookie season might be "fair"
Kevin
1:44
Any pitchers whose effectiveness you expect to tank the most due to the pitch clock?
Brad Johnson
1:45
I'm worried about Chris Bassitt who was one of the slowest to the plate last year, calls his own game, and has an eight-pitch repertoire.
1:46
I feel bad for the pitchers who call their own game in general. Probably because I've always done so.
The league hasn't yet approved using Pitchcom from pitcher-to-catcher
Manea
1:46
Is Manea a good pick for the rotation?
Brad Johnson
1:47
If you're going to buy into a rebound, Oracle Park is a good place to do it. San Fran has a good rep lately with restoring pitchers to past glory
Craning for a repeat
1:47
In a daily lineup league what ratio of SP to hitters do you like on the bench?
Brad Johnson
1:47
If it's 12-team, I'm usually comfortable streaming either direction so my bench reflects my perceived weaknesses.
1:48
Default is I roster extra RP so the bench will look like it's SP-heavy, but that's only because I'm starting 8 RP most days.

Who do you like better long-term: Taj Bradley or Brandon Pfaadt?
Brad Johnson
1:49
I like Pfaadt more. For one, the DBacks dev process is straightforward. Though that's also a strike against them since the Rays approach appears to be more successful.
Craig

Thoughts on Jesse Winker for this upcoming season? SLG really fell off last season.
