Hello! Who do you think has a better ROS outlook in a standard Yahoo 12 team public H2H league? Drey Jameson or Brayan Bello? Things are a bit wacky right now with the more highly-regarded Bello struggling against the Angels and Jameson (albeit limited pitch count) has done well this season.
Brad Johnson

I prefer Bello, but we're talking two very similar pitchers. Same asset class, basically the same approach and stuff too.

Are Scott Barlow and Ryan Pressly still worth rostering if I have better options (Hader and Seward)?
Brad Johnson
2:01
Yes. All four are top 10 closers. Trade if you must.

What can I expect from Grichuk when he returns?
Brad Johnson
2:02
.290 OBP, 15-40 HR pace. That's what decides if he's a streamer or a regular. I think it's pretty safe to treat him as a "use at Coors only" guy.

Would you start Gausman @HOU today?  He is off to a good start, but it's the Astros.
Brad Johnson
2:02
Yes, Gausman goes against any opponent for me.
I'm not contemplating otherwise until August (or in case of a slump)

12 team saves only league.  I have Barlow, LeClerc and Lange.  Also picked up Chafin. Can only start 2 due to roster constraints.  Can’t buy a save to save my life (pun intended). Looking ahead a month or so - Any super secret saves guys that you can recommend who are hardly owned?  Thanks.
Brad Johnson
2:03
Not really. Nick Anderson appears to be mostly back and could enter a timeshare with Minter. Especially as Iglesias' absence extends.

Gimme a second to scan around
2:05
Yeaaa, it's not great out there right now.
2:06
Carlos Vargas has nasty stuff and yucky command. Just got optioned. Jeremiah Estrada is the Cubs best reliever. He's in the minors though while they juggle depth.
2:07
Phillies won't want to commit to Alvarado as closer. Kimbrel looks toast, Seranthony and Soto are having a hard time
Brogdon or Bellati could thread the needle, but that's reaching WAY deep.
Holderman is next up in Pittsburgh if Bednar falls

Has your opinion changed at all on Riley Greene since being up with Detroit and long-term what are realistic numbers?
Brad Johnson
2:08
For sure. I never got a look at him myself so I only had public reports to go off which described a power-first player with high AVG upside.
2:10
Presently, I don't see a MLB starter. If he lofted the ball, he'd be a left-handed Randal Grichuk (which would be a solid MLBer). But he doesn't loft the ball. There's something wrong with his plate approach too - he takes way too many Ks for his perfectly ordinary swinging strike rate.
2:11
If he had an 18% K% - which would be about appropriate for the SwStr% he had last season - then, again, he'd be an adequate MLBer.
Something has to give soon or else he needs to be sent to Triple-A for a swing redesign.

Any info on  Hunter Feduccia?  He looked very good in spring training and has had some solid offensive seasons in the minors.  He's OPS'ing over 1.000 in AAA this year and is just under .800 in his minor league career.  Was hoping to pick him up as a backup, but the Dodgers chose to go the retread route when Will Smith got hurt?
Brad Johnson
2:13
Honestly, I can't find much. The PCL is a joke though, we can't draw any conclusions from 36 PA there.
2:14
The most recent scouting report I dug up on short notice is from 2020, basically a note saying some Dodgers evaluators like him more than everybody else. He was described as a future third catcher.

Like you, I'm searching for SP. Braxton Garrett or Johan Oviedo ROS? Garrett may get bumped when/if Cueto is back, while Oviedo has a rotation spot pretty well secured.
Brad Johnson
2:15
I've never taken the time to figure out why Oviedo so consistently plays down. Seems to have all the components of a passable SP. Might just be a mental thing.
2:16
I think Garrett is likelier to be a good SP, and I wouldn't worry about the ROS. Take it start to start for now.

NL-only, 5x5: which 2 of these 6 would you sit this week: Jeimer Candelario, Garrett Cooper, Tyler O'Neill, Lane Thomas, J.D. Martinez, Brett Baty.  WAS only has 5 games this week.
Brad Johnson
2:18
I'd sit Jeimer if the Nats had 10 games. I'd also sit Thomas, the 5 games helps with that decision but isn't necessary.
Caveat for H2H if you're prioritizing SBs over HR. I assume that's not the scenario.

NL-only SV+HD.  Are these relievers ranked correctly: Helsley, Fulmer, Chafin, Finnegan, Alvarado?
Brad Johnson
2:19
No, I don't think so. Alvarado is pretty close to Helsley imo. Then you have a WIDE gulf to Finnegan, Fulmer, then Chafin last.
2:20
It's not that Chafin's the worst of those five (he's probably third-best). It's just that it's kind of a waste to use him as a closer. He's so good in a change of pace mid-innings role.
2:21
Like, he's maybe the best change of pace RP and he's completely ordinary as a closer. Better for the DBacks to keep looking for someone else.

Why haven't the Rays put Springs on the IL yet?  Is there some thought that he won't miss time?
Brad Johnson
2:23
I can only guess. I imagine it's a matter of procedure/process. This is the sort of injury that sometimes does clear up as spontaneously as the onset. But, don't hold your breath. They'll probably announce a move before today's game.

My outfield is my weak link, so far.  Is Brent Rooker worth a flyer or should I keep Conforto?
Brad Johnson
2:25
I do like Rooker as a situational streamer, but I definitely wouldn't quit Conforto. He's hitting well. The elevated Ks don't concern me yet.
