Trade offer

Mead for Pfaadt

Fair. Promising young players who haven't hit the ground running yet.

Dynasty league, drop one, Varsho, Melendez, Endy Rodriguez
Brad Johnson
2:06
Oof.
2:07
Whichever one you drop, you'll probably regret it later. Remember, Varsho will lose C eligibility.
Blackburn or pass
2:07
Do you think Paul Blackburn is a good 2-start week pitcher? Royals tonight and then most likely ChiSox over the weekend.
Brad Johnson
2:07
I prefer to pass on Blackburn
2:08
The matchups are enticing though. You desperate?
Brad Johnson
2:08
I'd go for Story in redraft
Hopefully the rust is almost off

do you see any utility in relinquishing a prospect slot via promotion of Turang or Bo Naylor (neither are needed on my Active/Reserves roster) who are sitting in my minors slots until next season? i can switch 'em out for any available rookie-eligible prospect that isn't FYPD eligible
Brad Johnson

Not enough info for me to advise. I'd need to know who you'd add in their place and who you'd cut from your regular roster to make room.
2:10
That said, Turang and Naylor don't seem particularly impactful right now.
Trade offer

Aged based keeper league (drop anyone over 30). Raleigh/Mauricio/Flaherty for Realmuto/M.Kelly/Bednar
Brad Johnson
2:11
Assuming you're going for it, I like the second trio. Get the upgrades.

Do you have faith in Jesse Scholtens ROS?  Matchups in fantasy playoffs include KC, DET, MIN, WSH
Brad Johnson
2:12
Nope, not even with those soft matchups. That said, sometimes you have to make bad bets and hope they work out.
Keep two for 2024
2:12
Arenado/Betts/Gausman
Brad Johnson
2:13
Definitely Betts.
I think you can defer the decision on the other two until later.
Never know when a pitcher's arm will explode.
Evan Carter

Do you think I come up this September?
Brad Johnson
2:13
Nope.
A greater gamble
2:13
Where does one go to find higher-stakes leagues? And how much higher is the level of competition than a standard league of friends who are baseball fans and take it seriously but are not obsessives?
Brad Johnson
2:14
If you're looking to transition out of a friends and family league, I'd hit up the Pitcher List discord or maybe Ottoneu if you're up to learning a slightly different format.
2:15
Those are the next step up the difficulty ladder.

have both Yainer diaz and Rutchman in a one catcher keeper league… is Diaz worth holding onto?
Brad Johnson
2:15
Probably not in your situation. I do like Diaz as a new Salvy candidate.

How do you view Bellinger's performance (and future outlook) considering the naysayers' exit velocity criticisms.
Brad Johnson
2:16
He's never been an EV god.
That said, he should be careful to pick small home venues for himself.
2:17
This seems a natural sell-high window. Assuming you can get an offer that full pays for his current stat production.
My attempts to sell high have garnered offers for about 60% of his stats

for higher stakes, join a non-Main Event NFBC League to test your skills
Brad Johnson
2:18
I don't recommend NFBC as your first foray outside of a friendly Yahoo-like setting.
2:19
For one, their FAAB system is a real pain to play. Master some FanTrax invite leagues or ottoneu and then think about a draft&hold/bestball on NFBC if you still want a challenge.

Dynasty need to drop a prospect, Manzardo, Brady House, Carson Williams, Drew Gilbert, Edward Cabrera, or Robby Snelling
Brad Johnson
2:20
I think Cabrera would be my cut. Maybe House.
2:21
I'm still convinced Cabrera is a good reliever fwiw. I've never viewed him as an adequate SP.
