Fantasy Baseball Chat with Brad Johnson

Brad Johnson

Not for me. I strongly prefer Jazz, though I understand being frustrated and trying for something "safer."
Keep two for 2024 Dynasty
1:51
Judge/Seager/Lindor/Goldschmidt
Brad Johnson
1:51
Judge obviously.
1:52
Probably Seager for the second. There's no wrong choice with that group. I have Goldy last fwiw.
Schanuel
1:52
how much time does he see ROS? Were you surprised to see him called up?
Brad Johnson
1:53
That depends on C.J. Cron. I was not surprised. I actually called it out in last week's subscriber chat as a possibility.
He obviously won't displace Ohtani from DH, but he should play everyday until Cron recovers.

Would Caminero or Williams be called up first in your opinion if the Wander situation goes sour??
Brad Johnson
1:53
My guess is both.
1:54
They skipped Williams past Double-A with poor early results (15 PA)
1:55
They might be more comfortable with him defensively. Or else they're just less concerned about messing with his head compared to Caminero.
Chourio
1:55
Hi Brad.  Why do you have him behind Crews and Caminaro?  Top 5 dynasty ranking is still good, but why not just behind Holliday?
Brad Johnson
1:56
tbh, it's splitting hairs. That's a heady top 5 list. I think Crews and Caminero might be a little more impactful in counting stats.
Vargas or Cowser
1:57
Do either of them get recalled? I believe they’re hitting better at AAA
Brad Johnson
1:57
Cowser has hit well in 5 games. Vargas has superficially good stats but only a 114 wRC+ with below average EVs.
1:58
I think they'll be back. Cowser might wind up behind Kjerstad/Mayo though.
Mauricio
1:58
With his recent struggles, does he get the call?
Brad Johnson
1:59
I mean, I would have just called him up after the deadline. Like, what are you trying to develop with him anyway? He's Javy Baez without the god-mode tags. Let him start to acclimate.
Offensively, he's shown no signs of learning anything at any level. Maybe there's a defensive explanation.
James Wood
1:59
Do I trade him? He’s a high rated prospect but hitting in the low .220’s at AA
Brad Johnson
2:00
Depends on the format. He's exciting but not without risk.
Senga
2:00
Could he get shut down due to workload and standings?
Brad Johnson
2:00
That's possible. I haven't heard anything.
Likelier he gets extra rest and shorter outings.

H2H points, weekly lineups, do I start Duran or O’Neill?  Also Alzolay or Finnegan? Thanks!
Brad Johnson
2:01
I'd go Duran and Alzolay.
But you need to think about what stats you're targeting with the hitters.
Jaxon
2:01
Does Jackson Holliday come up for the last month of the season?
Brad Johnson
2:01
I really don't think so. But I won't say no.
2:02
Orioles are hard to read. He certainly could upgrade their playoff roster.
Nola and Javier
2:02
I've been holding on to both for the entire season hoping they'll turn it around. Is it time to cut bait on 1 or both? I don
Brad Johnson
2:03
I'd hang onto Nola. And Javier is a low-key buy if you need to toss a pitching Hail Mary.
I'm not a fan of extreme fly ball pitchers because this inevitably happens. And then you don't know what to do.
2:04
"this" being 1.40 HR/9
Candelario
2:04
Can I justify a spot for him anymore when I have Casa, Diaz and Mountcastle on a hot streak right now?
Brad Johnson
2:04
Probably not.
Time for me to wrap it up
DaveFord
2:04
Torkelson has arrived!  35 100 next season?
Brad Johnson
2:05
I'm not that enthusiastic yet, but he's moving in the right direction. I see him as a .225 hitter with around 25 HR/600 PA
2:06
The swing still has exploitable elements.
