Brad Johnson

Honestly, if Cease isn't kept, I wouldn't call it a dynasty league.
1:05
That's some kind of keeper or contract league.
CF Prospects
1:05
Carroll, Greene, Harris, Thomas: Best stash for 10 team 5x5, 10 keeper league with arbitration (keepers get +$8, +$18, +$28, etc each year kept)
Brad Johnson
1:05
Easily Carroll imo
He should be up early enough in 2023 to return the $8/9 initial cost.
Do better
1:06
These are some of the worst fantasy takes I’ve ever seen.
Brad Johnson
1:07
There's always another angle to these things. Any specific takes you disagree with? Might be fun to hash it out more.
Franmil Reyes
1:08
Should I be kept in a keeper league at this point?
Brad Johnson
1:08
I keep expecting him to wake up.
1:09
The underlying stats are there if he can get a grip on his K rate
1:10
So, if he was a keeper in past seasons, he's worth considering again. Might be a case where you can cut and try to buy low in-draft.
I wouldn't go out of my way to protect him right now if you think you can use his spot to upgrade in another way.
The Ghostly Trio
1:11
Any encouraging metrics to share on Vinnie P beyond surface stats?
Brad Johnson
1:11
Yes, actually. His 95 average exit velocity is elite.
1:12
He rarely swings and misses. Nor is he passive even though he works counts effectively.
He should hit for average and power going forward. Really nice buying opportunity if his current manager is fed up or has cut him.
12-team or deeper, I'd say
Probably around replacement level in 10-team.
Squilliam Fancyson
1:13
What is up with Trent Grisham? Is this just a down year or am I holding onto a sunk dynasty cost?
Brad Johnson
1:14
I've looked into Grisham a few times and come away perplexed. Just isn't making quality contact with regularity. But his best contact is on par with his norm, and he's barreling the ball at a normal rate too.
1:15
He's had a mix of what looks like genuine bad luck and too many very softly hit balls. I think this is solvable. I'd hold in dynasty - I doubt you'd get a fair offer if you marketed him.
Lucas Giolito
1:15
Am I droppable, a trade low candidate, or will I turn it around this year?
Brad Johnson
1:15
I'd try to trade low personally. He's had enough decent recent outings to inspire some small hope.
1:16
His statcast metrics are less deeply blue than a month agohttps://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/lucas-giolito-608337?stat...
Trending positively, I guess? I don't have a read on that.
Jesus Sanchez
1:17
Decision time for me, keep him or trade him? I think his $ is to big for my team next year (maybe not) I could expose him to next years auction and try to buy him back. Thoughts?
Brad Johnson
1:17
He's not someone I'd go out of my way to defend. Interesting traits packaged in a player who's too willing to give away plate appearances.
Trade
1:17
Verlander and Holmes for judge fair?
Brad Johnson
1:17
Yes, I think that's reasonable.
Billington
1:18
Adell gets 150+ at bats in the 2nd half?
Brad Johnson
1:18
Would be a crime if he didn't.
Theo
1:18
MJ Melendez or Danny Jansen?
Brad Johnson
1:18
Melendez
Hedo Ballkoglu
1:18
Someone just dropped Buxton....I have 36 of my 100 FAB bucks left.  What's my bid?  (12 team roto redraft)
Brad Johnson
1:18
Really tempted to just say $36.
1:19
I guess put up $20-25 and hope nobody else noticed?
Gallegos
1:19
He is currently a free agent in my league. Is he worth an add while searching for saves?
Brad Johnson
1:19
Depending on opportunity cost, yeah, he's talented enough to roster as a second-chair closer. Never know when someone (i.e. Helsley) might hit the IL or otherwise struggle.
1:20
Time for me to start wrapping up
Isaac Paredes
1:20
Picked up for trade bait, can't find a taker. Should I move on or is he worth holding. Team is absolutely stacked around him, although its a 16 team league and not much talent out there
