How do you rate me going forward? Am I closer to the six-category stud from last year or to the serviceable but almost certainly over-drafted mid-tier outfielder I've been this year?
Brad Johnson
11:44
I think what we've seen this year is more indicative of his talent. There should be more power outcomes going forward.

Is Evan Carter a top 100 prospect?
Brad Johnson
11:44
From what I hear, yes
11:45
He would have been a top 100 prospect middle of last season if not for the injury. Then, since he's a Ranger, he slid back into semi-obscurity until this year.

Is it worth attemping to trade Jorge Lopez nowish in the event he is traded to be a non-closer on another team?
Brad Johnson
11:45
Sure, look around. Don't force it. Especially if you need saves.
Trade Advice
11:46
How do you approach an owner who seems to always suggest very lopsided deals (in his favor, of course)?  Do you just not deal with that owner or do you try and talk it out or what?
Brad Johnson
11:46
As someone who often starts with lopsided concepts (in my favor, of course), I expect you to counter offer with something equally lopsided.
11:47
These lopsided ideas are an indication that there's no external reason to make a trade.
You should look at this as an opportunity to lay groundwork rather than push all the way to making the trade now.
11:48
Some months from now, you might revisit the idea and hammer it out very quickly - either along the parameters you set or theirs.
If they have a pressing need and still won't make reasonable offers, then they're just not a viable trade partner.

Who’s the better Rays play the rest of the year.  Barreled Ramirez or Josh Lowe?
Brad Johnson
11:49
Oof, Ramirez is certainly more actualized. Lowe has so much upside. You need to shore up your floor or invest in ceiling?

Offered 2 trades and thinking both are in my favor, thoughts?  Corey Seager for Tim Anderson and the trade #2 Mountcastle for Dylan Cease.
Brad Johnson
11:49
Taut trades in my opinion. Prefer Seager and Cease for redraft.

I’m in dynasty league would Colson Montgomery would be a good player to pickup?
Brad Johnson
11:50
He's a decent prospect, but I've found there isn't much hype to latch onto.
You want prospects like Elly De La Cruz who you can get somebody to dream on.
11:51
Gleider Figuereo and Jackson Chourio are the big up-and-comers this year.
I don't know if your league has shorter time horizons though.

Jo Adell plays for a different team come August?
Brad Johnson
11:51
Seriously doubt it. They need free stars.

Hunter Greene? What do we have
Brad Johnson
11:52
Volatile, back-of-the-rotation arm. Not a fantasy asset imo.
Kind of the 2022 version of OG Vince Velasquez.
11:53
Stuff looks like it should be fantastic at first glance, but certain characteristics cause the fastball to be very mashable. It's not fixable imo.
I thought they should have brought him up as a closer last year. He can ramp up to 106.
11:54
the profile works as a top 5 closer much easier than as a SP.
But I also thought the Rays should do that with Shane McClanahan. I was very long.
11:55
Also said the same about Whitlock (who was OK as a SP) and Spencer Strider. I guess I'm quick to push guys into the bullpen.

Julio Rodriguez worth a keeper selection next year? Or will there be some regression.
Brad Johnson
11:56
Any sophomore-slump effects should be offset by growth. I won't want to draft him at his inevitable ~15th overall price tag, but I'd definitely plan to keep him (pending opportunity costs)

When do you think Esteury Ruiz comes up?
Brad Johnson
11:56
I mean, it should be immediately.
I just wrote about him for the FO subscriber article today.
11:57
Super exciting fantasy profile. He seemingly would upgrade all three of the Padres outfield spots.

You've been pretty high on Dylan Carlson. I dropped him and he's still available in my league. Would you say he is still worth rostering ?
Brad Johnson
11:57
Yes, I'm still enthusiastic. Definitely a growing period for him though. He's not all the way actualized yet.
